It's been a real bitch ... but I'm not going to post about it in any detail, just a tad too personal for me to put it out there into the world of cyberspace.

But it DID affect me and it was REALLY shitty.

True ... but I think you've got some great ideas brewing, and I hope that you don't let them go too far on the back burner ... just may have to wait awhile for things to bounce back.

As a fulltime college student (loans pay for my school bills, and car bills usually), and semi-pro musician (most of my food and rent) with a part time job in Food Service Management...

The biggest thing for me is that my bread and butter is playing for Churchs. and the economy crash means that Churchs don't have money- this time last year every weekend I was going out and making 2500+expenses split 4 ways. Now those same Churchs are telling us "1000 or we'll just go without music." On one hand, none of us can afford to be payed that little, on the other hand, we all ready need the cash. The biggest effect on me is that I have no idea how I am going to pay for my wedding- we've cut costs by almost 50% and we're still in the whole. Both my fiancee and I just aren't getting work like we thought we would and saving 15g's on top of our regular bills is tough.

Sigh, I do love my HBOD-SYOD-SBEQ stack though. everytime I play out that makes me smile huge when it comes in gloriously stacked. oh, and I like that the first time I stacked the bee into the SYOD my fiancee was like "what did you just do? it sounds like the sunshine cutting through black clouds in the midst of a storm." Jeez, what better description could an ambient post rocker ask for! 8) Bjorn makes pedals so good even my nonmusical fiancee can tell the difference (even if she doesn't always like to admit it...)

got let go back in may of last year, been struggling along since then. it was a bad space in time to be unemployed, as few are hiring right now.

i'll make it thru one way or another, always do......and like some others here, if i am sleeping under a bridge, there will be a few BJF's to keep me warm 8)

Just lost my job today.

Don't worry, it was expected and I was a casual. Still, I'll miss the money.

So far so good. I teach guitar and gig sometimes. Thank god people still value education or I'd really be in trouble.
The gigs are drying up a bit though- or at least the money part of the gig.
I'll tell ya', if I was bigger and meaner I'd switch careers and be a repo man-- they're making a killing right now.

Like the good DocRock, I'd rather not go into details. I did have to leave my job but found another; wound up living in an apartment during the week in TN for my job while my family remained in SC. Figure my house won't sell for a while and I'm not giving it away so, we may be in this living situation for a while.

I am still employed and get to go home 2 out of every 3 weekends; on call one week out of three. It could be much worse and I know there are those who have been devastated by this whole ordeal.

Donner,

Need to keep your ideas going. The Frat is a GREAT pedal!!Tough time for a start up but things will get better!!!
