Note for EJ about LP necks - don't be afraid of fat necks on the 58s and 59s.

I'm not sure which type you are interested in but the fat neck is not really an issue.
What is a big change (if you've been playing a vintage style Fender) is the very flat neck radius and slightly wider fret board.
However these are the sort of things you can get used to in a week, because although the fret board is wider the LP has more distance
from outer strings to the edge of the fret board, so the string spacing is not all that different.

something Ive noticed is that I played only Fenders for along time and use a big bottom set 10-52 on the fenders....

but I seem to like the normal set on the gibson scale - might be the pickups tonal differences
