Hey murkat,

I just want you to know how much I absolutely adore my Les Paul. I wasn't kidding when I said it was the best guitar I'd ever owned, and that includes an original Black Beauty from 1969 that I used to have. I also had a really nice Custom from 1991 that had one of the nicest flame tops I'd ever seen on an LP. Of course I'd still have them if it weren't for the same ol' same ol' money thing. But honestly, I'd trade either of the two previous LP's I had for the 2007 R8 VOS that I've now had since November. I just love it, love it, love it.

How many of you guys make up the team there? If I gave you my serial number, would you be able to tell me if you were the one who actually made my guitar? (That would be so cool.)

Anyway, I just wanted to say how great it is.

yur welcome. finding the right LP to match you is majic. I miss my old 71' BB and 30th anny goldtop... My now ex took care of them where I would never see them again.... so far. I have had othe LP's since, but none come close to the past benchmarks.... So now I like Explorers and like types :)
Its a good size production facility/ plant, just under 100 peeps playing with wood ;)
I dont need no stink'n serial #, all I need is pics, back, front, nut, cavity shot, and then I can tell if I did or not :)
enjoy!

Sorry to hear about your ex and your old guitars, that really sucks.

But, very cool to have you here with us! I've never talked to anybody from Gibson before.

I'll get you some pics when I get a chance. The only ones I have right now are of me using my LP onstage. I'll take some close-ups, etc., and get them to you later.

Cheers,

Doc :D

Murkat,

You may not have wanted to divulge that information about being a luthier but, now that you did, for those of us who don't currenly own a Paul, how can we perhaps order one in the future an ensure that YOU build it?

Doc,

Get some pics on here. This is very intriguing to say the least and now we all gots to know who built that guitar.

Matt,

Once again you've started a great thread!! Thanks.......except, I THOUGHT I was doing fine with the guitar that I have!

place a special order with your dealer with what you want, spec'd with sole builder (me), pro shop edition.

This is just too good to pass up. Looks like I'll be ordering a Paul in a few months when I get settled.....I'll let you know when I do!

Matt,

Contentment is likely not attainable and is probably highly overrated. I thank you. My wife, however, defers gratitude at this time!!

Doc,

Pics?????

overall? nothing really. Historically, current line? i'd change the nut material... from corian back to B6 Nylon material. that would be my first thing to change.
