I'm always on the lookout for new music, especially live performances.
If you have any favorite live performances/links that you would like to share...tracks that inspire you to pick up your guitar and practice...post links here :D

Seeing as how I have had a bit of a prog-rock itch lately, Here is one that I have been enjoying..

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 1059888212

The first track was inspired by the Captain Beefheart track "Peon", and has a really fun bass solo in the middle of it.
The second track takes a bit of time to get going, but once it does its great.

Nice link! That guy has his chops down for sure....although watching some of his other clips are a bit depressing bc I know I'll never have that skill no matter how many hours I practice

Jimmy Herring always puts on a great live show,,he tours a good bit. always very inspiring too.

anyone of the videos listed on youtube would give an idea. The Aquarium Rescue Unit (ARU) set up is probably one of my favorites.

glad you enjoyed,, :)
for easier to get cds,,I would recommend any of the ARU albums.

Alot of good live stuff out there too you may have to search for....there is a ton of live cds and dvds with him. Hes has been in alot of taper friendly bands...Allman Bros,ARU, Jazz is Dead, Herring Trio, The Dead, probably a few others and hes been touring with Widespread Panic lately.

enjoy

Those first two clips... of Godflesh... that's the HM-2 + JCM800 thing I had mentioned. You can hear it in its rawest form there.

The third clip... that's just for fun... good traditional Swedish folk music.
