Favorite Movie Soundtracks

anyone have some great soundtrack recommendations? the movie doesnt have to be good,,,just the music. :)

one of my favs is Curtis Mayfield- Superfly

Amadeus ... doesn't get any better than that IMO.

Also very much into the John Williams stuff...Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones, etc.

Yes, I'm a classical geek.

I also enjoy a lot of the teenie / punky stuff like from the American Pie soundtracks.

Weird, huh?

I enjoy The Life Aquatic ..a fun mix of symphonic songs, Bowie covers, and some other good stuff thrown in.

...first time post here (although long-time reader of the forum). :D

Rock and Roll High School is a good one, and Repo Man, it's a maylay of California Punk Rock....although, a Hard Days Night was the first record i ever bought....bought it the day after seeing the movie with my dad...it's got to be at the top of my list !!!!.

Ha forgot about Repo Man !!! Maximun R and R

Does Apocalypse Now count ?? I think that was some powerful use of existing music ....

great suggestions,,,I was thinking there is alot of good music written that gets forgotten about or not even noticed if its in a movie.

I like the soundtrack to the movie Manhunter (it's got some connection to Silence of the Lambs - prequel?)
