Chris Stambaugh is really great! I purchased a custom built banjo from him about 10 years ago and I love it. His best instruments are his guitars and basses. I think he is best known in the bass player community, but I've seen and heard his guitars and they are just as sweet as the basses. Awesome to work with as well and amazing value for an instrument that can be made completely custom from body shape to pickups, etc. You should read his 1 page blog called "Custom Philosophy" if you are interested in buying a "custom" guitar or bass, it'll give you something to think about.

I was actually really disappointed when I saw these --- I had had this idea for a couple years and was pursuing it -- I still might do my version of it but these are cool too...

hmm which one? :)
the Drip,,yeah I might have played one a few times. .
the Novax, Ive never had the chance to play,,,Ive seen C.Hunter a bunch who uses one and there is a group called California Guitar Trio who Ive seen, and all three were using a fanned fret of some sort. Im very intrigued by the scale length concept.

As a die-hard "offset" fan and being that a Jazzmaster has been my number one since the 70's (when I picked up my stock 63 for $200 - big $ for me at the time) this guitar has captured my fancy.
Beautiful design, appears to be a beautiful build AND I think I could "bond" with this immediately:
