Any opinions? I am looking for dark with a versatile range.
Cheers!

Light and dark are relative terms but I like my Dr Scientist for reverb.

I have the Hardwire Supernatural Verb which is a cool pedal, but the reverb setting pales in comparison to the tube spring reverb in my Swart amps. I bought it for the crazy reverb sounds so it wasn't a deal killer. Not much help maybe, but you can probably skip the Supernatural in your search.
Rockeroo, maybe if you list the reverb pedals you have tried and what you liked and didn't like about each might help others with their suggestions?

Thanks for the input.
The reality is that I haven't owned reverb pedals and am curious which one might suit me well. I have an old Deluxe, and the reverb on there is great, but when I use other reverb-less amps, sometimes I miss it. If anyone owns and likes their reverb in a pedal, I would be interested in hearing what model it is and why it works for you...

Not a pedal but a half rack Lexicon LXP-1 modified by Jim Williams audio upgrades absolutely kills.

I keep going back to the neunaber wet. Really nice lush thick reverb and not overly bright. Spring chicken actually does a pretty good fender like reverb. Mad prof reverb also very nice but your request for dark would make me think it would not suit you.

I love my Strymon BigSky so far. Tons of ambience and versatility for use with multiple bands and genres.

I have the tonecandy spring fever and i really like it for the spring reverb sound, i had the wampler faux spring reverb first but sold it as the tonecandy sounded better through my brownface concert and it also has a master level so u can boost if necessary..
Marsy.

How did this turn out?
Sometimes the best thing is to pick the three most promising pedals and buy them from Prymaxe or Pro Guitar Shop and return the ones that you do not like. Prymaxe carries Strymon (Big Sky, Blue Sky, Flint) too though no discounts. Free shipping so at least a good way to truly demo the pedal.

Hey. For now, I realized the amp reverb was best for me. I tried a few reverbs my friends were using, but the amp reverb has a special quality that the others lacked -- i.e. reverberator, hardwire rv-7, holy grail.
I will likely purchase a reverb unit, but my old fender deluxe reverb has been faithful and sounds awesome. I will update more as things progress.
Thanks for your help!!!
