KLONs

How come all of the KLONs for sale on eBay look like they've never been touched? I understand some people invest in guitar equipment, but do any of these people actually use their stuff? I use my KLON (and BJFEs) all the time. It does not look minty fresh, but for the age, it looks very nice.

How do you boys keep your pedals so minty fresh?

Cheers.

I don't have a Klon, but all the "mint" used or new BJFe's I've bought have somehow pretty much stayed that way... Though I gig them, etc... I don't seem to have the "problems" others have with paint chipping. I don't cut the pedals any slack, either. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I haven't been on TGP or ebay in ages. Have the Klon prices started coming down yet at all, or are they still going up?

They are still up. I always ask myself if I want to cash in on my deal-of-a-purchase several years back. I love the tones coming through my KLON, so letting it go would be tough. I have seen some selling between 1500 and 2000.

Yikes!

I have never seen one in person though I can not see how any pedal is worth that kind of money! Especially when I crank up my Swart Pro up to 8 or 9 and play any of my guitars through it and it is just heaven! :music Of course at lower volumes that is where the pedals come in.

I just got a screaming deal on a used Xotic AC Comp and having had one of the early yellow ones I thought I would give it a shot. It sounds really great as a true booster considering what I payed, but it seems to lose bottom end at volume like it needs more Volts to push fullness and string separation. It is not an RRB!

I'm still hoping for a RRB with the SBEQ Treble and Bass controls with switchable buffer.

Ruby Red Booster? Would that suffice? I hear it rocks pretty hard.

I bought one of the first ones from someone around here (it's been awhile) and it was really nice and the longest I kept an MP pedal by a long ways! I just never need more treble. Things are changing though as the guitars I have built using my build philosophy are less harsh than the Fenders they are replacing.

I suppose it is inevitable that I will pick up another RRB, but $400 is looking a bit steep at the moment. :( I thought Donner said Bearfoot was coming out with one last year?

I've owned 3 of these and could never get over the feeling that they were doing something I didn't like to my bypassed signal. I would be very interested in a RRB... in time.

Three KLONS over time, before they crossed beyond the $600 range. Really wanted to like it but always prefered BJFE for similar purposes. Never tried a rrb.

Edit - three I bought and sold over time - kept trying to make it work for me.
