I dont think I have seen those pots yet Donnel, but I have seen some that have an adjustable treble kit so you do not have to try all kinds of cap & resistor combos to get a taper you like.
http://www.guitarelectronics.com/c=pADp ... _controls/I also noticed they have a pot on the linked page that can be used as high pass or low pass. It would be interesting to wire the neck and middle of a Strat with high pass and the bridge with low pass.
I'm kinda weird in that I usually use the old vintage cap values of .047, .05 or .1. I do have a Strat or two that I will use a .1 on the bridge and use a smaller .05 for the neck and middle. I know a lot of people confuse a pot being on 10 as out of the circuit, but unless you have a "no load" pot your signal is going through the cap! So typically a paper in oil will take just a bit of shine off the top while a SoZo mustard makes your sound more open and punchy.
Others claim capacitance is capacitance and only the value of the cap changes the sound while in use. Having sampled many different materials and measuring the exact value of each cap I will hang alligator clips on very short wire so I can test without having to open the guitar up and solder every time. Different materials will taper differently as well as varying degrees of clarity to color.
I have a few of the Sozo blue molded caps that I haven't tried which are supposed to be slightly darker than the mustard of a similar value. I should try those in the LsL when I change out pots. I cant get the wah-wha sound from the .05 that is currently installed and it doesn't have a wammy, so I need some trick in there!
Mr Hawaii, can you link the shop you purchased from? I can't find it on the net.
Gorgeous skys today and I finally got the neck for my second project Tele. But, I can not paint as my little genius need some help with science fair.
