Sorry for being so delayed on my response...

I pretty much gave up on the idea of headphone practice and have an entirely new plan... I work with kids and have managed to raise a little money to buy some instruments to use with them in the behavioral setting where I work. It's terrific, because I actually get a little time to play and will soon be learning the Ukulele from one of my students.

Also, Cliff gave me a very good deal on a vintage 59 Gibson GA-5 that really sounds pretty terrific at low volume.

Update... My wife and I recently picked up a Zoom H4n for the purpose of capturing quality audio with a few SLR video things we are working on. I knew this was cool for recording live music, but had no idea how deep the features actually went until it arrived yesterday. What a cool product, for $235 (amazon), you get a great recording device, USB interface, and headphone amp that includes all sorts of modeling stuff, tuner, and metronome. It has 2 1/4 inch plug ins that double as XLR inputs with phantom power.

All in all I am very impressed so far. I will post more as I learn.

Thanks for the "heads up"! I had no idea it could do anything but record live sound.

I want to get back to recording a bit and I cant find any real help using Garageband that I have on my computer and phone.
