WAH WAH

I pulled out my two old wah pedals today and they do not play nice with my current set up. I have been using the MP SWAW when ever I need wah and it works really well except with certain fuzzes.

I loved my Teese Wheels Of Fire for the throat and mouth sounds, but I do not think it would cut in a mix. I saw a company called Wilson effects and they had a few that were really interesting. I actually really liked the demo I heard of their most basic wah, but they do have some crazy adjustable models that are much less than the Teese Wahs AND they have a fuzz friendly buffer.

Anything else I should look at? I use vintage style S, T and Jazzmaster type guitars that you see listed on the sides. I hate brittle highs, ice pick, etc so please no Morley recommendations.

Ah, I just remembered that Electro Harmonics has a revolutionary new wah coming out that has no moving parts! Premiere Guitar did a video, but I kinda got lost looking at Rebecca Dirks and I can't remember what it sounded like. :shh:

Go check out Art Effect.

Hand made in Israel.

I've tried their wah, it's very similar to the original McCoy & it's SO light!

I can not find a thing about that Wah. I wasn't as in love with my Teese Picture Wah which was also a Clyde McCoy clone.

The only Wahs my local dealer has are the Fulltones and it seems that a lot of people do not like them, but I don't know why.

I wish it was possible to put a fuzz friendly buffer on the SWAW. Maybe I should ask Donner or Bjorn if that is possible. The more you play with the SWAW the more you realize how much it really can do. It just needs an expression pedal input! :laughing7

I used to have a Clyde Deluxe (Fulltone) but it did not get along with my buffered pedals at all. I ended up getting an Area51 with all the bells and whistles and haven't looked back. They take a little while to get (I think mine took 2 months), but they handle fuzz and buffers very well and sound as good as anything else I have heard. If I had to do it again, I would probably skip all the additional features and just get the fuzz buffer. I've kind of moved in the direction of "less knobs is more" and don't feel the need to tweak with extra knobs on a wah.

Good to know. I remember liking the Fulltones less than the Teeses at my local dealer and I did get a chance to do a very short demo of a new Clyde Deluxe with adjustable and switchable buffer (very cool feature) it is just kinda expensive at $246 and coupons/sales never work on Fulltone.

So, I got $20 off of this one: http://www.prymaxevintage.com/wilson-ef ... tage-spec/ I emailed the owner and he said that the 6 position gets the same sounds as shown by Burgs on the 12 position wah youtube demo which I thought was pretty impressive. It is fuzz friendly and has some vintage components as well as a bit nicer components than the non-vintage version. I might get it by Tuesday and it seems to be a lot of wah for $170!

I'll let you know how it goes. I did mod my pedaltrain2 with a new 35mm hole in the front to power a Pedal Power Digital. I am trying Dual-Loc instead of the expensive metal bracket to hold it on. Now I should have proper, isolated power to all 12 pedals on my board which I hope helps with the noise I get now with some using wall warts. I want to put my board back together now, but you are supposed to wait 24 hours for the Dual-Loc to cure before I can attach the power supply and wire up the board again.

I currently have an AMT WH-1 Wah for sale. I really really like it, I just don't use it enough to justify keeping it. PM if you're interested. See a burgs demo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3P3vtmJ99c

I've been using an Area 51 Wah for years, after going through Original Crybaby, Crybaby 535Q, Keeley-modded Vox 847, Teese RMC2 & RMC3, and a wah from Fulltone. The Area 51 is the only one I've ever been happy with. I think I've had mine since 2006 or 2007.

Area 51 with fuzz buffer. You can't go wrong with it!
