Thanks for that site! It looks like they sell EA exclusively. One more question! Anyone here try the Forte ?? It looks like the best of both worlds :)

I find the difference between the Forte and Lyric HG being the Forte has a fat fuzzy sounds on the single notes on the bass strings where the Lyric is clean/clear and warm with no fuzz. Trying to describe the top end eludes me, but there is something about the sound of the solid wire verses the stranded wire. Again, that goes for speaker cable as well. I think I would prefer using Forte over Melody as it seems to let more signal through. If I remember correctly Tony (the owner of EA) described the the Forte as more "chocolate" than the Lyric HG.

The links above give EA's philosophy on cables and the second one has links to the Tone Quest Report which do a good job of telling the story.

Great interview there!!! The Lyric HG still seems to come out on top but the Forte it probably just the compromise for live use :) Thanks.

Aw Jeez, that's all my wallet needed. Patch cable GAS. :)

My board is currently wired with Mogami cables. Is there a serious difference between Mogami and something like the EA Reveal?

Interesting, from what I can read its even more flexible than the forte and closer sounding to the Lyric HG (which I love). Any input on this? To answer your question, if it is like the Lyric HG than its a resounding yes :)

I also noticed the reveal is considerably cheaper than the Forte and Lyric HG. Might be worth a listen :)

I could never bring myself to do this, but has anyone tried one of the EA amp power cables?

Am I right in thinking that, because I have a Bearfoot Vibe early in my pedal chain that's always on and an always on Fromel EQ right before the amp, there would be very little or no improvement in tone by changing my patch cables to EA?

Don't the always on pedals negate the signal degradation? I vaguely remember reading Bjorn make some comment like this (but I could very easily have been mistaken).

But I might get improvements by upgrading my instrument cables and the the cables between board and amp?

Correct or wrong?

Longer runs are VERY important. I just changed my cables from guitar to board and from board to amp, and that alone made an incredible difference. Of course, you want to have quality between your pedals, but I think using my mish-mash of lava cables, live wire, etc. works well enough for me. With that said, I am purchasing some EA patch cable in bulk to rig my board. If there IS a dramatic improvement, I will let you know. I am skeptical the difference would be as big as when I upgraded the longer cables.

Cheers.
