None of mine are less than 8" when measured like I___________I from tip to tip, but I have huge Neutrik ends so the cable length is much less. How did you manage to get pancake ends on a Lyric hg? :scratch Even at 8" they do not like to bend, so i plug both ends into two pedals (off the board)and bend about 50 - 60 degrees and leave it for a bit. Keep adding about 10 degrees every few hours and eventually it will be in a U shape (permanently). Some of the other bends (pretzel) are little problem as they just go there.

The cables tend to have a natural curve and, fortunately, all mine have naturally curved the direction I needed to go. I think the key is to take it slow, don't try and crease it (keep it round) and go a bit longer on the cable than you normally would. If I added an inch to each cable to get it to bend easier it comes out to less than a foot total.
