It's Ice Blue Metallic that I tinted so it's halfway between blue and green. I'll post some pics once it's ready!

MMmmm :drooling I have two pine Tele bodies and a lot of parts, but I need to get moving on putting a finish on the two bodies before the weather changes! I love my Telemaster so much I have considered selling one of the Tele bodies after I finish it and buy a Telemaster body, but it is hard to find one with a good weight. Mine is swamp ash and I believe it was made by Wildwood which does OEM work for MJT and many others. If finishing the bodies goes well I may get a business license and try and bring some money in for a change lol.

Which WRH's did you get? I have looked at the Lollars, but I think I am going to try these: http://www.at-the-creamery.co.uk/scatte ... amery.html He makes dead on copies of FRH as well as models that fit into a regular humbucking ring as well as the Jazzmaster pickup route. I have even thought of building just a regular Jazzmaster with a fat maple neck, mustang bridge and The Creamery WRH for Jazzmaster with the traditional trem. I have this cool arm & collett made by the guy who works on Johnny Marr's guitars so there is no wiggle in the hole and the arm stays where you leave it.

They're actually the ones made by Curtis Novak that are made to fit in a jazzmaster pickup space (the JM-WR's). My buddy has the Lollars, though, and they sound SOOO good in his thinline tele.

Here's the color I came up with for the guitar. I'm almost done wetsanding now. Applying finishes on a guitar is one of my favorite things to do, but man wetsanding sure is a pain!

Well, so much for building a hardtail strat or esquire, I got a good deal on a 66 Musicmaster neck in great shape and a 65 Duo Sonic body and bridge. The body needs a refin (has been sanded down to wood and stained walnut) and I'm heavily thinking on Shell Pink with a mint guard and black pickups...

I can now say it is finished! It turned out so well I want to put a custom headstock sticker on it, but being a Strat player I put the string tree in the wrong place. :boohoo I do not know if it is worth the hassle trying to move the tree, fix the hole and put a sticker on. Next time I will know! There is some glare on the guitar from my '54 thin skin hanging next to it.

These are the girls that have seen the most action this year.

And, I have lots of parts, but missed my opportunity to spray nitro, possibly until spring, so here the parts sit. The Jazzmaster is a real Fender and I have it in the photo as I am trying to decide on pickguard/covers/knobs colors. I havent seen the new Fender Vintage series in person, but the new guards they have it looks like they got the mint color much closer to the old ones.

I got a sweet deal on the Musikraft neck, that goes with the T-body below (i got them for $20 each!), which is a one piece, 1/4 sawn, baked AAAA flame maple with 6105 frets, 1" C shape from nut to butt. 1 11/16" nut which is new for me on electric. THe only thing is I really like Musikraft heavy rolled fingerboard edges and since this was made before I bought it they couldn't go back and add it. I am trying to decide what Musikraft neck to put on the blue Strat and lately all they put on ebay are super thin .80" at the nut.

I have Daphne Blue paint for the one on the right along with the neck pictured above. The left one has a Blackguard 514 Musikraft neck that should arrive soon and I plan on going for something like this:

Those look great man! Daphne is one of my fav's, I have a daphne strat with mint guard and super aged p'up covers and knobs, it also have a neck w/ maple fretboard and the whole combination is my favorite guitar aesthetically that I've done. I like your style

Thanks Joeleo! I just havent pulled the trigger on a neck for the Strat because, as you can see above, that I prefer one piece maple necks, but it seems I should have a rosewood/maple neck on a guitar to keep things different and even. I do not think I have had a slab board neck that hasn't had troubles in the end which, even with the thickness I am getting (.95" nut to butt), I worry about twists, humps and delaminated fretboards. Yes, I have had all of those problems, but the two rosewood laminated necks have/are holding up fine.

I am also considering a one piece, unfinished, Pau Ferro neck for the Strat body. The body is supposed to be 2 piece Alder and it only weighs around 3.5 pounds! I do have some fear it will be muddy with traditional slab maple/rosewood. Maple/Pau Ferro is a possibility as it would keep the look and give me the sound.

I am also going to try EVO frets on the Strat neck. I do wish EVO came in the 6105 size, but the closest thing Musikraft has is the same size as 6150! I have a hard grip and tend to squeeze the guitar out of tune a bit. I actually tune a few cents flat to compensate! :laughing7

Thanks! The most amazing thing is how huge a Telemaster style sounds verses a regular Tele body! Usually I run the Treble knob on my SBEQ around 10:30 - 11, but I need to go between Noon and 1 when I plug in the T-Master. I originally had some Rumpelstiltskin 1950 Black Rope's in it, but it was too much for my amps. They will sound great in the heavier pine Tele I am building.

I have Klein Broadcaster pickups in it now and the magnetic pull of the bridge pickup is so small I am surprised I get any sound at all. I should try cold rolled steel for the bottom 4 strings as I have it under the E & A currently. It has a dweedy talking tone and is super touch sensitive! The new Klein Epic pickups are really something special. I have the '57 Epic in that sunburst strat above. It has great clarity like you expect from a vintage pickup and what is crazy is they have a certain "drive" to them as well! I am thinking of putting the 57s back in my black strat and getting the Epic 54s for the sunburst '54 thin skin. As much as I do like the Don Mare pickups they are just a bit too fat. I will have Aaron from Rumpelstiltskin do the Strat pickups in the Daphne Blue body.
