Cool story behind the guitar..I owned this guitar when i was 16..I sold it to a friend of mine. Over the years whenever I got some cash I would e-mail him about buying the guitar back. 20 years later I get a e-mail saying that he isn't playing very much and do I want the guitar. He sold it to me for 2k! promising that I would keep it, use it and not flip it for double the money. I happily obliged and picked it up yesterday.
The main difference I have found..and a big deal to me is the feel of the neck. Small neck, big frets..butta! I'm out of town right now at my parents cause my grandma passed yesterday so I haven't had a chance to even rock it through a amp yet..but it feels so nice!! I think it may be forever linked to my grandma..I was there holding her hand when she passed and 2 hours later I bought the guitar.

Cool guitar and cool story! Sorry to hear about Gram, but after my Mom died about 3 years ago I splurged and bought a used '68 Fender heavy relic Stratocaster in red sparkle which (wasn't reliced that much) reminded me of her sparkling personality .

My Dad didn't want me to get into drugs, so I wasn't allowed to have a guitar, but as I was leaving for University Mom took me out and bought a used '76 Gibson Firebird for $200! I took my "beer money" and bought a silverface Fender Champ.

+1! EGDM and tele kick major butt. There is a lot of grit and bite there.

Cliffhanger? SGD? I love my CH2 with my tele! If you can find one (or just go the MP route), I would recommend it. 8)

A Tele and the HBOD is The Stones! Either Model H sounds fantastic as well because it adds a nice bottom end and general thickness to the notes. Of course a Forest Green compressor in the Sustain mode kicks some butt!
