Has anyone compared the FoxRox and BJFe Vibes?

I'm liking the demos of the Foxrox Aquavibe and wondered if anyone has ever tried it alongside the BJFe MGMV/SBMV/etc. I know the BJFe vibe is probably a totally different type of circuit but I was wondering if anyone has any insight onto how they compare. Thanks!

Ive compared them- the foxrox is nice - definitely that phasey sound more like a traditional univibe. Definitely takes over your sound, so if thats your thing its a great pedal. The BJFE blew it away in my opinion. Adds the depth, but I think of it more as an enhancer than a "modifier". Not sure if that makes any sense. :) The BJFE vibe is bar none, my favorite pedal of all time...

I had a Mojo Vibe for a few years and it got bumped by the Fulltone MDV-2 (the one with the Wah appearance). I have a mint green single footswitch here right now and the first thing I don't like about the BJFE is it doesn't go slow enough to hit Trower or Floyd sounds. On the medium speed like Machine GUn with Vibe> Fuzz Face it does rather well, but it is still different than the Deja Vibe.

To me the BJFE is a little more like a tremolo with a little pitch bend, but it doesn't quite give the illusion of a rotating speaker the way the Fulltone does. I also prefer the Fulltone's ease of speed adjustment and it gives two voices in Vintage and Modern (a bit brighter).

I know it might sound like I am down on the Mint Green, but it begs to be used in a different way than a traditional Uni-Vibe type effect.

Sounds to me like you're hearing it right, as I believe not a "traditional Uni-Vibe type effect" is exactly what BJ intended with the MGMV - and that's exactly what I love about it, that it is different, that it doesn't take over your sound. It adds a light light, ethereal, psychedelic vibe to your sound.

I, too, own a Fulltone MDV-2 (sounds like the same model as you own, in fact) and agree with your assessment - it has a heavier, phasier, more "traditional Uni-Vibe" sound.

Yea, it's much crisper and clearer and allows your original tone to come through. The Foxrox seems chewier and more phasey. I love the BJFe vibe and and starting to really get used to it. My only gripe with it is that the treble gets out of hand on my bridge PU of my strat. At higher amplitude settings it really seems to peak in a somewhat ice-pickey way in the treble. Maybe I need to wire my second tone pot to my bridge AND middle PUs instead of just the middle... that would solve it. Anyway, I was just curious what peoples opinions were. I am liking the BJF a ton and it's nice because it doesn't really overlap much with my Phase 45 where I think the Foxrox would.

The more I play it and "learn" it the more I like it.

If you change your wiring you might find it more useful to wire the bridge to the lower tone and the neck & middle to the upper pot. I know when I play I rarely use the tone for the neck or middle, but it is nice to have individual control of the bridge.
