Is anyone else having trouble with the forum log in?

Postby thesjkexperience » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:44 pm

Almost every time I open the forum it shows me as logged out, so I have to log in. Today the first time I logged in it said I Exceeded my number of log in attempts and then had to answer a question about Bjorn to get logged in.

Is it just me, or are others having trouble?

Didn't have this problem today, but did a few days ago. Also I have noticed that it doesn't keep you logged in very long. I'll be checking my inbox and by the time I've written a reply and hit "submit", it tells me I'm not logged in and I have to login and retype my reply again. Bummer. :(

It has been going on for over a month for me. I was beginning to think I was kicked out.

You might be right. I was on an acoustic kick for about 5 + months and didn't post anywhere, but since I came back the forum hasn't worked well, so I didn't know if everyone was laughing behind my back.

Mmm...unfortunately I am travelling around at the moment with only occasional Internet access but I will see what I can find. Unfortunately we were getting a lot of "automated" users who wanted to leave messages on the forum about botox and viagra etc, etc. Having purchased all the suggested items from these very helpful folks I found that my cupboards were now full so I thought we should stop letting more of these kinds of users in - too much of a good thing can get a bit boring. So, I implemented a few security features to help reduce that and that may be one reason why some people are having login problems... I have now made a slight change to the forum that may help that. Also, if you can, it may be an idea to delete any BJFE cookies you have as any old ones on your system could give you login problems with the new security regime... Unfortunately, as always, we learn about bugs in the system after the event not before...annoying really but in about 30 years we should have enough knowledge and skill to make this work 100% :D :D
