Hello All,

Donner and I went off to our own secret laboratories :banghead :music :boohoo :sleepyz :sleepyz :idea and, low and behold, we both came to the same conclusion on a a velcro-less system for pedalboards. I'm sure Donner will post photos of his version soon. The materials in my photos will change as better ones are discovered, but it looks VERY promising! Donner gave me the honors of posting this - his genius is very much a part of this idea taking shape.

Congratulations to both minds working on this. :salute
A very creative way of maintaining
the aesthetic beauty/integrity of your mango boards
with a (seemingly) simple solution.
I know other owners will be excited by this innovation
and it will add to the orders.

Standing appaluse for the "DDM" (Donnel and Donner Mango!!!!)
Would you need to customize a DDM to accomodate a DMM or
other larger pedals Donnel/ Donner. (seriously).

Now...given the weight.........
could you put one to sea with a homing device
GPS to hit the Australian coastline on a designated date?
Probably more accurate than USPS.
Congrats to both again.

Yeah this will be fun....
A very good example of crosspollination and well shared ideas....... and mangoes :glasses

Im embarrassed to say I have lost my rubberbands and possibly my marbles !!!!!! :greensad and will have to go back to the store now ~~~~~ geez

You can do a few variations - you can put one band into the other and right before you pull them together insert the dowel (I was using pencils) to snug it in place.... and you can double wrap around the ends to keep them from drifiting ......

You can also do a variation on the 'diaper method' by running the band between the box and the bottom for pedals that arent side in/outs or you can loop from the top loading in/outs under and up to the stomp ....

I had origianally thought of this for the Pedaltrain type boards and using magnets instead of the dowels........

I will really try and get some pics before sundown, my phone cam sucks for pedals in bulb light !!!!

Pedal actually sitting very secure even with the rubber band. Rubber feet on pedals is key and I was thinking some of that foam pad stuff that comea on the bottom of the ad900 would be perfect on the board to keep side to side movement to zero. Has alot of potential.

what a great idea! i'm in the planning stages of building a new board. I might have to incorporate this idea.

right - and you could combine some of this too --- positions that are stable like delays or something coud be velcroed - Im thinking of velcroing the upper tier and leaving the bottom row/ constant changing of drives to this method.......

  Two huge thumbs up for the DDM collaboration! Yeah, THIS is what I've been waiting for(as I told Donnel), as I've never been a fan of velcro straight-on.

No better way to serve up the peds on those beautiful mango boards, than with help from the Rubber Band Man:

More from the lab... you can use the no-slip strips (kind of like skateboard deck tape) in small amounts to totally lock things into place (I just laid the entire strip down so you could see what I'm talking about). Also, I found some rubber o rings that fit just right!

Check out photo - you can barely see the o ring from the top...

yes I think you could also run a strip of velcro UNDERNEATH the board

and then around the dowels so they would be completely movable as you swapped different size pedals etc..

then you wouldnt be limited to the entrenched positions .....
