General delay love and thoughts on the Echoczar

Like Steve, I recently indulged into the Echoczar and Angelbaby. He has the latest version, I picked up a duo from late 2006. These pedals remind me a lot of the BJFE, in that they are almost instruments in their own right. With the setting I've been playing around with over the last week, there is really two layers to everything you play - there is a top layer with the notes you play that has incredible headroom and clarity and another layer of swell that builds as you move into whatever you are playing. It creates this rich and warm atmospheric thing that is beyond any delay I have ever owned. In addition, the extra headroom makes for really good echo on overdrive. There's old black and white footage of Jimmy Page playing some loud violin bow slapping, echo thing, that this pedal makes happen in spades (it's on the DVD set they released a few years back). I was previously using an Eventide and, though it met my basic needs, I never really got attached to it. I always found that it lacked headroom and didn't mix well with overdrive.
With the ECZAR, it responds dynamically to your picking and almost feels like it's breathing at points. If Bjorn was into building a big "do all" delay, this pedal is what I would imagine his might sound like. I'll try and find a little time this weekend to record some simple chord progressions to demonstrate this swell I'm talking about.
I'm curious to hear some samples of the el capistan... and the new version of the DBD, the ECzar is a wonderful but a little too valuable to take out to some places.
