cool, cheap little winter trick

Postby ptbarnum » Wed Feb 24, 2010 11:14 pm

For anyone else that lives in an area that is currently chilly (ie. heaters, and dryness)....
I put some bits of dryer sheet under my strat's pickguard today...eliminated all of the static-related snaps, crackles, and pops.
and it smells like fresh laundry 8)

That's got to be one of the most original ways of clearing up the sound of a strat. I'm not sure i'd go for it though.

yeah, it's not high tech, and it only helps if your experiencing effects of static...no noise cancelling.

thanks sir..
very easy on a pickguard-ed guitar, indeed. only issue is that you have to replace every now and then.
enjoy!

If I had seen this on HC I would not have called BS. If I had seen it on TGP I would say you are sniffing way too many corks. However here on BJFE I find it perfectly sensible. We don't use dryer sheets at my house because my son has very sensitive skin that reacts to most laundry products. I will have to see if any band mates could lend my strat a sheet.
