single (is that what situation means? or did I missinterperet that and already sound really creepy?)
In southern BC (Canada) for school and northern Alberta when I actually get a break long enough to work.

As for topics, pretty much anything is good, but I agree about good movies, books, and music. Just whatever life throws at ya that you want to share or found interesting. I like this idea though, it can be nice to know who you're talking too beyond the gear they use.

bobby d...44.....almost married (december 2009 is our wedding plan), with 3 daughters (sheer craziness)

professional musician for most of my life, doing gigs since the age of 16.

other than music, i have done a number of things for "day jobs"....alternative music marketing and promotion for BMG Distribution, a private investigator, national sales manager for Gator Cases, ran a recording studio fora year in 87, have done guitar repairs and lessons for a music store, and a few other things

for hobbies, i have my ambient music "stargarden" -- magnatune.com/artists/stargarden

i also like to fish, hunt, and "outdoorsy" stuff.

still trying to remain a professional musician, but it's tough at times. however, it seems to be one of the things i am best at, and it makes me happy to play music, have fun, and hopefully help others enjoy life and have fun!

my new hobby is starting with my folk fuzz build, and i will probably take a stab at breadboarding and trying to experiment with other effects pedals.

first pedals -- in 1974 -- crybaby wah and Sekova fuzz pedal from japan, then a bosstone fuzz......i suppose i was one of the first boutique effects buyers/users, starting with one of the first provibes made by dave fox, and fulldrive 1 #034 from the first batch of fulldrives mike fuller built, as well as one of the very early zvex fuzz factories and an octane 1. and a very early prescription electronics experience pedal.

i guess it always comes back to effects pedals for me

Name: Tim Couper, but I usually go by "Coup"
Age: 21
Rational Status: Engaged- getting Married on August 29, 2009 (7 months from today actually!) No kids for a couple more years. too much music to write, and I'd like to hit grad school before I have to have children running around at my feet.

Started playing guitar at 14, went on my first East coast tour with a band at 16, first cross country tour at 17 (32 dates in 23 states of 7 weeks). Gotta thank my parents for getting a doctor's note so I could skip school for like 2 months. They said I had appendicitus and then mailed me a get well card every once in a while on tour. seriously. they're good people.

Quite my band when I came to college, and since then I've been heavily involved in religious/christian music at camps and colleges all through new england. I broke my 1000th gig in a Christian worship band this past fall- and all of those are since I got to college. I joined my current creative outlet in my band The Wellspring Embrace last January (08). We are an ambient rock/post-rock band. We have demo's up on myspace. http://www.myspace.com/thewellspringembrace

I guess I'm a semi-pro musician because most of my life outside music is financed by student loans. I might not graduate on time, but I don't care because I really like the demo's I've been pumping out at the studio. I suck at making pedals and I failed to complete the Folk Fuzz because I got pissed off and put it on a shelf and I can't find it now. My first pedals were Ibanez ToneLok distortion, chorus, and tubescreamer. I became a delay addict about 6 months after I started playing guitar, and I've had my Line 6 DL4 on my board since March 2003. I haven't changed the saved settings since january 2004. Still use it everytime I play guitar pretty much. Got into BJF pedals when I was prowling for an EQ. I tried to find the SBEQ everywhere, but I ended up with a HBOD because it was getting such rave reviews. Its been my go to overdrive as a pretty much always on base tone since early 2007.

other than music- i read alot of philosophy. I am a philosophy and psych double major, but I might as well major in Sociology and Theology too because I read so much of it. If I give up on music as a living, I'll go to grad school and study either theoretical psychology (probably ecological or hermeneutical psych) or counseling theory. I might want to be a worship/associate pastor in a church one day. but only if i find a church that i can stand. for now i'll just stay a hired gun as a guitar playing and orchestrator for worship events.

Mike (or Michael) Brown

Single (dodged a bullet last year, GF was pushing marriage, started to go kinda psycho on me, i split, she went TOTALLY psycho on me! still stalks me. Yikes!)

I'm a writer, at least when I've got an active job going. Just doing freelance stuff and web design right now. My whole world got kinda turned upside down last year when I moved outta Chicago and back down to FL (originally intended to be a temp move, i did heavy volunteer work for Obama here in FL over the summer, and my family is down here so it worked out nicely) but wound up staying down here for a myriad of reasons (psycho ex being one of them, but not being able to handle the winters being the main one)

I started playing guitar late, and I also dabble in electronic music and am learning a lot about audio engineering and producing, so I'm kind of the jack of all trades master of none type... working on it though 8)

i'm waaaaaay into politics, will probably go back to school for a masters in poli-sci or campaign management at some point, though I'm also considering some other business oriented options 'cause i've got some family connections... just not sure if its anything i really wanna tether myself to.

ultimately I want to have a low-key music career and be a published and respected author. I'm kinda taking my sweet ass time making any of that actually come to fruition though

i dunno... really love history, philosophy, theology (personally I am an athiest but still find religion absolutely fascinating). I'd really love to spend some time in the middle east if it didn't mean having to worry about my safety all the time. but all of these things as well as completely abstract and random thought processes are what make up most of my writing... I am primarily an essayist, although I do have a couple of ideas for novels kicking around.

So I suppose you could say I dunno wtf I'm doing with my life right now except playing music and trying to take the opportunities as they come. 2008 had a lot of setbacks... but 2009 should be a lot better. I hope so anyway :D

33,
in a relationship,
my son will be 3 in may,
fulltime musician for 15 yrs now, jazz, blues, soul, hip hop, electronic, playing in my area and touring (25 countries so far and counting :P )...
i mainly visit here to catch news bout bjorns work and get useful opinions/advice on using pedals. since the music business is hard, and i gotta take care of my lil one, i guess i'll never be able to afford more than 4 or 5 of Bjorn's gems at the same time, but that's cool! always enjoyed this forum, feels like family :) interested in discussions about but not only about music/gear ,so i welcome the new lifestyle board...lets see what comes up!
