I'm using the DiMarzio instrument cables (that was a step up for me), and the Lava ELC homemades between pedals. I'm curious about the better cables too....someday! :wink:

for guitar to board, board to amp I had to go look as Ive used the same ones for years,,they dont even say, except instrument cord so Im guessing some generic cheapy. :oops: :lol: theyve been reliable anyway.
I have some lave cables for between pedals, and a few geogies left here and there. it all works for now.

i always used what was around, very generic stuff...than i bought some Lava ELC patch cables, WOW what a difference!!...than i bought some George L's and they sound just as good, but are much easier to use....so i use a mix of both now, but i'm so glad i tried some new cables...the clarity and tone has been so much improved out of my rig, it was well worth the cost !!!

Axe to board = Vovox
Board to pedals = EA MonoRail
Pedals = EA Melody

I'm liking the MonoRail for DIY stuff. Sounds nice. Warm. Doesn't seem to offer up any hinderance to my tone.

Well, I ordered some Vovox cables a couple weeks ago and they should be here soon. I'm excited to see if they make a difference or not. I'm currently using:

Guitar to board -> Monster Rock cable
Board -> George L's
Board to Reverb tank -> George L
Reverb tank to amp -> George L

Supposedly George L cables (the big ones) are thin and bright in comparison to some of the others. I'm curious to do the comparison with the Vovox for sure.

i think vovox cables must be great, three of my colleagues bought them and never went back!
i never tried one personally, but i dig one thing about them: theyre incredibly flexible and light....i remember having troubles on stage with those heavy and stiff monster "jazz" cables (which sound great, specially with bright fender guitars). same goes for the heavy spectraflex cables (cant remember the name, it wasnt the standard ones). they sound great for sure, but dont try to move around on the stage....let alone doin dance routines :D
i'm really lookin forward to hearing Your opinion bout the vovox stuff!

Cable test

OK, I was hoping the cables came today and they did! I've compared the George L, the Monster Rock, and the Vovox guitar to amp, no pedals. There's definitely a difference. Before I spill the beans, I think it might be fun to have Donner and DocRock come over and do a blind taste test...errr tone test! :D
