Anyone get sentimentally attached to gear?

Postby Eskimo_Joe » Fri Dec 05, 2008 2:41 pm

I seem to get attached to some gear to the point that it's hard to sell, even if I'm not playing it that much, or if I've moved on to something different. I think part of it is having sold things in the past and then regretted it. I don't regret keeping something, but sometimes I regret selling something. Anybody relate?

Oh, god yes. lol.

I have like 5 Devi Ever pedals I never use but they have some sentimental value (long story) so I can't bear to let them go even though I really should.

I've also begun collecting Laura Bennett artwork and pedals--I don't even like Fuzz Factorys that much but I'm probably gonna end up with several of them within the next year or so, haha.

I saw some of her artwork on eBay recently. Did you grab one (or some) of those?

I have definitely gone for the Bennett zVex stuff.

Unfortunately not!

If I had that problem I would have a wonderful collection of Strats and Teles to play in a bunch of small and medium size Fender amps and a few Marshalls, Traynors, vintage Ampegs etc by now.

I tend to get attached to some gear to late, a short time after I have sold or traded the stuff. My list of things I regret that I have sold is far to long………

Since you never specified what kind of gear:
I'll never part with my small collection of AVO MkIII & MkIV universal meters: one was in service at IAF (Israel Air Force), another at Saab Aircraft and yet another was once property of my old Alma Mater. Each one has a history.

I did! I have this hanging on my wall right now and another one that she is doing for me personally in the works which should probably be finished around the turn of the year:

oddly enough I also have some of Devi Ever's paintings as well-

I sort of think I should let the MP FGC that own go since I almost never use compression. Its better for me than any other comp I've tried, but I just don't use compression in the types of music I play...
