Hi,

I was at a guitarshow this last weekend, demoing all kinds of gear and among them Bob Sweet's.
As I remember conversating with Bob I told people to buy one of Bob's creations- hey, he's got cancer in his spine and he's married- you will not recover from something like that .......yes I had hoped he'd get better and still be around, and to my ear his pedals are trueley good.
I know there's much more, like Bob was a great guitarslinger, a humble and intelligent guy and a great human being. I will not even begin to grasp what a loss this is to Bob's family...all the smiles and happy words that made life easier to live, that also as I only met Bob professionally..............once a few years back I got a proto for Mojovibe and Bob sent me an angry mail in which he wondered if I'd take that apart and copy that............in which case I would according to Bob have no luck............I told him though that that was not the case- I would just show this unit a guitarshow and tell what I felt was good about the unit and see if I could get any local distributors interested......I think it took until photos were up until he really believed that and maybe until I wrote about the Mojovibe and what I felt was good and superior about it........
Yea, I know Bob was sceptic to people, but I also know how much deeper that felt when something was actually good.

To me I think Bob made a mark in guitar effects history and I will remember from this day.

My grandfather went the same way and then I went to a park and screamed in the solitude of the trees in anger and loss.

I know Bob was a driven designer and I feel the loss of a colleague.

If someone would organize aid for Bob's family count me in

Rest on a pillow of beautiful flowers my friend lost.

I too delt with Bob and he was a very nice human indeed. It is so awful when someone who touches you leaves like this. It is SO important to make sure that you make the most of the people around you as everyone is here for such a short time...

This has really struck a "chord" in my soul this week. I have sent items to people all over the world who are important to me. I called and spoke with my grandmother. I gave one of my favorite toys (nintendo DS game unit) to a child who did not have one, and whose parents probably could not afford it. I sent my sister a big basket of little gifts. And I called my parents to once again tell them that I love them.

I can totally understand Bob's reluctance at sending out the mojovibe to BJ......because he did not KNOW you like we know you. There are so many rip-off artists in the "boutique pedal" world, that Bob was scared. But fear is to be forgotten.

R.I.P. Bob..........we will do a gig together again someday. And hopefully I will be able to have a tone like yours was....or at least MY tone, but with those beautiful qualities that your fingers and ears possessed.
