WHAT????? you know BILL? I used to LIVE in his shop from 84-89 or so....we did a LOT of stuff together. He taught me a LOT>

I was also friends with Eliot from Thoroughbred, etc....

did you go out to clubs then? You had to have seen one of my bands at some time or another.

small world, Donner!

How funny!!

I think I dealt with t he younger Edwards mostly , short black hair glasses kind of quiet ??

I got a black strat with mirror gaurd and EMGs with the Super Strat wiring done by him....

and Thoroughbred was the other one on the weekly errand run, bought and sold lots of guitars there, some to painful to remember  , and I had them butcher a '69 Les Paul deluxe, (moved the bridge mini to t he middle and added a full hummer to the bridge , it was cool at the time),,, and first time I ever saw a beat up strat for over a $1000 ..... wow flashback city .....
Funny thing was I hated hairmetal !!! Mostly because I was going bald young  I was already into blues and roots music,, Hung out mostly at Skippers and Kaseys Cove I think it was called and some weird biker open mike thingies ,,,jeeez ~~~ lots of great bands at Skippers for a small place - met John Lee Hooker and Buddy Guy and Albert Collins in one month 8) Tampa could be big fun sometimes.....

Hey... I lived in Clearwater way back. '73-'75
I spent all my time, either playing or partying, & most of my money at, wait for it...
Ron's Highway Lounge!
Great bands, babes, & foosball!
Don't know if it was still happening in the 80's.
Very fond memories, from so long ago...

Donner -- you did indeed meet with Bill -- he was the coolest guy, and did lots of custom work for many of us in Tampa. Also built some guitars for Heart and other big bands in 70s, but it never took off.

If you had your guitar worked on at Thoroughbred, it was John O'Boyle who did it. Trust me, I know...he butchered one of my guitars once....ONCE. You had to bring him a 12 pack of budweiser in can (not bottles) to get anything done :-)

Played SKippers a lot, as well as Caseys Cove, etc...I played blues with Nitro and the Tampa Bay BLues Machine!

and yeah...once my hair started going, i just shaved it ALL OFF!!!
