I tried to capture the MAGIC of the DONNERBOX in the Florida sun.

This one is hard to capture, but she's a beauty in person.

Third pic is closest to actual color.

oh yes.....KNOBS are still set to the setting I used onstage, if that helps any.....

yeah t hese are protos, a couple didnt have bat snaps, most do and will .....

and your right there will be too many options for some folks and it will likely take more than a week to really explore all the possibilities, I have toyed with t he idea of breaking it up into smaller chunks...
Really all the options on this would constitute a whole pedal line for some brands ....

Thing is we also have more options - more opamps - swapable mid caps etc..... it will take up to 24v --- 18v easy ......

maybe should just be 12 one knobbers

The thing that makes the options problematic, for myself as a player, is that they are not easily accessible in a LIVE situation.

Now, in the studio, it's a whole different ball game.

I really wish I could have another footswitch on my CAF to go between my two fave fuzz sounds on that one....

you are really kinda right......there are a LOT of sounds in the Fraternity OD, and you could probably make 3 or 4 different pedals out of those circuit arrangements.

also -- you can't STACK one pedal, and you know how much we all LOVE to STACK them

I think it's a winner of a pedal, tho......with a LOT of sonic territory to cover. And I am sure if I used a les paul or other humbucker or p-90 guitar, I would have differing results.

But it didn't take me long to find a sound that made my DRD a little jealous and afraid

yeah its great to stack into a Honey Bee and get even more options , because then they ALL sound good

and thats one reason I did t he layout t his way is they can sit close to each other- you can stomp two of them easy and switch both at t he same stomp...

y'know, i forgot to mention that the layout, with in/out jacks and power supply jacks ALL ON TOP is perfect.

Donner, you are ON the right track......

So I had a little time with the yellow glow in the dark Frat and what a great little box it is for many reasons.

It covered a ton of territories it would be hard to Not find a sound you like.
Maybe a lot of options but if you didn’t know what type of distortion you liked, you could definitely find it in this box by the time your done

Pulled off sounds from my old Mo’D, my modded Muff, vintage and modern fuzziness, some similar bjf tones, and tons of variation in between.

I really liked position 2 and 5 from left to right. They all sound good and were useable but 2 and 5 went the best with my rig.
5 had a slight volume boost compared to the others with levels that matched up well when going thru the rotary dial.
I stayed mostly with gain at 2 oclock or higher as it was plenty juicy even on the ‘OD’ side. Quite ragging if you want it to be.
I should have tried more lower gain settings, but it may have been another week.

The Fill and Tone knob are really handy in making any of the settings personally likeable. It was very useful with different guitar pickups too.
Did fine with humbuckers and P92's.

Some new sounds, some familiar sounds, all in all very good sounds which is what were all after anyway.
Seems very well built and nicely laid out. Oh yeah and it Glows!

i liked the high gain setting with 6 way all the way to the left -- it got me to that DRD ki nd of distortion, and it really SANG onstage....

there's a LOT of tonez in that little box

Due to the 6 way rotary switch in the middle, and four other controls, there are a LOT of options here.

I found my "happy place" with rotary switch all the way to the left, it seemed big, fat, and open there.

I then played with the other knobs, and dialed in a sound that was making my DRD a little nervous, heh heh

overall -- for $222 with a donner finish -- how can you go wrong? They will probably be $500 on ebay nxt year

My only constructive criticism on the pedal is OPTION ANXIETY. It does TOO MANY sounds......some i like, some I am indifferent to.

I am a caveman when it comes to onstage. I want one switch, 3-4 knobs, and one great sound to come out of the pedal.

I think this pedal is a TOTAL WINNER, especially at the price of $222.

Bobby I took the liberty of quoting all the parts of your post I wholeheartedly agree with.

I have had the good fortune of playing The Fraternity as well. It is about as versatile / tweakable of a distortion as you will find I think. It's impossible not to find some tasty delicious distortion tones in this box. My favorite part about the pedal is the center control that allows different clipping settings. The clipping choices really allow you to dial different flavors. My favorite is the far left setting which opens things up. Anyway, I have not tried all the RAT-based pedals out there, but I can tell you that this one is a far more satisfying pedal than the Keeley-modded RAT, which I owned at one point. No offense to the Keeley, this one is just a Cadillac. Solid construction, as of course, a groovy paint job a la Donner. Way under priced in my opinion.
