What effect do you use for a Leslie sound?

Ive seen, chorus and phasers and flangers used to good effect - but if you were tweeking a Leslie effect where would you start ????

not sure where Id start for tweaks but if I had room I would keep the HK rotoshpere,,I never had issue with noise, just size. love the C.Hunter /W.Haynes sounds it could capture.

latley I would use MGMV>MYT. MGMV set fast,, MYT set slow. I hadnt thought much about using phaser with the MGMV but since you mentioned in another thread it may be worth trying. which side of TOP do you use? I was trying to stay out of the univibe realm even though it was considered a leslie sim,,,kinda has its own thing happening.

I also remember using TZF have some leslie settings but sounded quite different to me and Ive never had a chorus that actually sounded close to a leslie.

Sherlock Tremit with speed set high and depth set fairly low for a subtle hint of movement. Does a great "Cold Shot" emulation.

I've used an Arion SCH-1 for years. Recently I read Adam Stark's review of the Analogman Mini chorus so I picked one up. I own a big box Aman so I have it to compare to, Analog Mike says there's no difference but my ears tell me there is. The mini is the best chorus I've heard to date and it does the SCH-1 wobble maybe even better than the SCH-1.

interestingly enough as per Bjorn's advice I've been using my TOP & MGMV combo for leslie type sounds. He explained a pretty nifty little trick one night that sounds really incredible... you run the TOP will full resonance on the fully clockwise (reverse phase? anti-phase? not sure what its really called) setting and it sort of acts as the bottom speaker, while at the same time running the MGMV as the top speaker. Its quite the cool sound indeed. I like setting the TOP speed at about noon and then run the MGMV faster and it sounds just incredible. The speeds can be tweaked to create many so many different sounds too.

Newark, whats the signal chain for this combination?

Just curious, because I think the MGMV would normally go before distortion, and phasers usually always go after distortion otherwise you'll get a muddy sound...

also having a touch of grit and reverb in there is a big help , something like the HB or the BBOD drive about 10:00 - a little dynamic tubish grind
