ah thanks , well its just beginning to surface ... its a collaboration between me and my long time buddy whos been amp teching and building for years and a number of things fell together at the right time for us to do this and its coming together nicely and growing faster than we expected ...

We have similar tastes in tones and John has some cool circuit ideas and is able to make about anything... and there will be some 'artwork' a little down the road

Origianlly I was going to just do Donnerbox cabs (cabs are boxes too right  ) , kind of what Ive done with pedals , but on amp cabs ...... but Johns amps are so good and fit right in with what I wanted to do so Im really happy with these and looking forward to getting them out there...

One fun thing we are doing are the Moon dogs - recycled old amps - keep the cab and chasis and gut the rest and so you have sort of a stealth amp - like 'damn thats the best sounding Peavey I ever heard  ' some silvertones and solid state Marshalls etc.... a bit twisted but fun ....

so this should be a good outlet for some really toneful new amps ......

They all sound pretty great....

The harvest moon in 6V6 seems pretty cool...maybe even EL84 too...the KT66 and KT88 amps would be awesome but way to much for my needs

Yeah they are sort of broken into classes

the Harvest Moon group is sort of in Neil territory 6v6s and EL84s Alt Country /Roots Rock guys will love these - John did a cool 6v6 one for Brian Henneman that has 3 inputs - one is tweedy, one brown face and a third that is kind of Suproish - nice tasty raw..... and its built into an old Peavey Pacer !!! Brian loves it and is using it at his current shows.....its a hoot....

the Hunter Moon group is more rock/power blues with 6L6/EL34s - one is a cool mix of t he old AC30 ef86 front end and a sort of 30 watt JMP marshall , thats the starting point anyway....

Blue Moons are the Big Robust Cleans using the KT66/88 (my favorite cleans are KT88s )

maybe the coolest is a 'loud for 10ish watts' single ended (one power tube) dynamic dirt amp called the 'Honeymoon' ... can be tweeked quite a bit by what power tube you have in t here....

needless to say pedal compatability with all these is important ; ]

Ill get some of the protos out to some of you for evaluation - maybe a little amp Tourbox

hehhe yeah the MoonDogs should be fun - may offer it as a custom service later - people can pick out thier own carcass for reanimating
 lots of old solid state marshalls a nd peaveys and ???? that would be great hosts for a handwired tube amp 8)

Did you get 'Moon Dog' from that old Yes song? I think it's off the album Fragile.

Speaking for myself, I like the idea of the cruddy old looking amp that has awesome tone - a real sleeper!
I'll be watching with interest, as one of these days I will have to get a decent valve amp again.

wow...that Brian Henneman amp sounds wicked great. I suppose all you'd need is a trem and 'verb or delay...and maybe a boost :).

Seems like the Harvest Moon would be most in the park for my needs :) Thought an AC30 EF86 front end mated to a marshall power section...could be sweet too.
