Speaking for myself, I like the idea of the cruddy old looking amp that has awesome tone - a real sleeper!
I'll be watching with interest, as one of these days I will have to get a decent valve amp again.

No a Moon Dog is a color flash that happens in the halo of the moon , which kind of sounded like these guys - each one being a unique occurance happening on the edge of a Full Moon

(I was a yes fan but dont remember any MoonDog refernce ... hmmm)

I am Incinerator wrote:wow...that Brian Henneman amp sounds wicked great. I suppose all you'd need is a trem and 'verb or delay...and maybe a boost :).

Seems like the Harvest Moon would be most in the park for my needs :) Thought an AC30 EF86 front end mated to a marshall power section...could be sweet too.

Yeah its pretty cool and versatile --- its basically a variation on the Harvest - and Brian is able to gig with it - our circuits are pretty robust and John is great at manipulting the plate voltage to get the most musical output from his circuits ....

and Ive really been diggin the EF86 front end - its a different kind of attack and compresses differently than a fender ....

Yes, it was on the album "Fragile." The track was a short one called "We Have Heaven."

(Yes is my all-time favorite band, by the way.)

Howzabout a 2 channel four holer, with an EF86 front end mated to a cathode biased class A, 4x6v6 power section with a half power switch & a defeatable post phase inverter master volume?
Single tone control on one side, baxandal tone stack on the other?
Add Sozo's & Matchless DC-30 iron.

Now we're talkin!

Well anythings possible and the customers always right 8)

We have one that has a raw clean channel in front of a 30 watt Marshall with a ef86 front end....

thing is Ive never been completely happy with a 4 6v6 power section - it doenst sound like a louder deluxe, it seems to get too thick for me.....

what we just finished towards that sound is a specially voiced KT 66 power section which has the similar sweet treble of the 6v6s but can go much louder before it breaks up.... and the front end switches between tweed and plexi ....

we are also toying with doing a full customshop ala carte approach like " $999 roll your own" and just making one amp a day start to finish....... lots of possibilities.....
