It is a bit curious that a BJFE fan would deprive someone who really wants to add an excellent BJFE pedal to his/her rig the opportunity of buying a limited release pedal at fair price because he wants to make a buck on it. I would rather have seen those 30 pedals go to people who would keep and treasure them, than to see comrades from our BJFE flock buy them up to sell at higher prices.

A bit curious if you ask me...

Agreed - I posted this info so folks could finally try one out. I own two and love them and wanted to introduce others to it. I could have bought them for $380 too and resold them for more if I wanted to but my intent was to give other people the chance to try these out. I'm not out to make a buck by buying and flipping pedals, but if other folks choose to, that's their decision. These were fetching under $500 before and now there's more of them so there's no reason they won't be less than $500 again eventually.

And no offense meant by any of this -- if you own something you're completely in your right to ask whatever price you'd like. Just expressing my take on the whole situation.

I completely respect everyone at BJFe.org because we all enjoy one thing - Amazing sounds of BJFe, Bearfoot FX, and Mad Professor. To each their own and they have the right to ask whatever they want - you snooze you loose.

It does bum me out because I always wanted the BBOD (which I will get someday) :boohoo When I first saw Cliff post this to the point I got home they were gone. :banghead What doesn't sit right to me (being such a devout fan) is knowing that it is Bjorn's, love, labor, his creation from design to product - if BJ charged 600 I would totally pay that price knowing the $ goes to him. But knowing the actually price charged and seeing the markup... ouch that hurts my mind and I can't justify buying it and putting my money in someones pocket so quickly after they were available.

Anyway, Bjorn's such amazing individual and master at his craft. There's nothing like it on the market IMO. Cheers to BJ :music

Played through my PPF a bit, and I realized the sweetness of cranking the nature and fuzz knobs. It almost reminds me of a fuzz face tonality. The mid range is nice and juicy, and the sustain is sweet. I play through a telecaster into a deluxe reverb.

What's everyone's favorite PPF settings?

What about favorites on the Model G while we are at it?

Cheers.

FYI... I copied this to the BJFE Discussion section, entitled "Favorite Settings". Ho hum.

First of all, let me talk about the BBOD I received from this batch this week.

I've owned 2 BBOD's previously. This is the best sounding of the 3. I'm not sure if it is because it is new, but it certainly sounds fantastic. To my ears, each of the 3 I've had has sounded a bit different but just slightly. This one is full sounding, the full range of the treble control produces musical sounds - not as thin at the upper range as I recall my last one being.
It has that 'sag' that I find appealing in the pedal response- similar to interacting with an amplifier.

I'm currently trying out 3 new overdrives and I'm not sure which I'll keep (Zendrive II, Klon KTR, BBOD).
If I do decide to sell this one, I'll only cover my costs as I am not real comfortable with flipping pedals for profit.
It was just under $400 USD after the currency exchange and shipping.
Please don't pm me about it, if I decide to post I'll probably post it here first (here and TGP are the only pedal forums I visit). I might also trade for a PPF since I can never get my hands on one.

Anyway, the important thing to know is that if anyone tries to tell you there is some vast difference with this run of pedals and the older ones, ignore them. These pedals are just the same, albeit new and so they sound perfect.
Such a great pedal, I wish I could just keep all the pedals I try, but I don't like to have pedals around unused when someone could be using it.

Wow, that's some creative interpretation...I'm sorry you feel the need to so easily pass judgement with such idealistic fluff...please don't hold back...."depriving someone"?? I thought I explained myself quite clearly in my previous post...this is why I don't post regularly anymore.

I LOVE the BJFE stuff, and have for several years now, and I have been a very fair seller hear long before you arrived....I had the chance the try out another BBOD, and I took it, plain and simple.

I value this stuff HIGHLY, and 95% of the time any profit I made went right back to more BJFE pedals...is that OK?? "keep and treasure them"...like that 4K MR you're being so vague about selling that you just got? Just because you painfully over paid for that one, maybe as a "concerned BJF forumite", you should take a big loss, and sell it cheap to a fellow comrade.

I'm selling this BBOD because I can let it go for less than the other two I paid over $600 for, AND because, like I mentioned, it's like splitting hairs against my other TWO that I have(and treasure)..., but I at least wanted to exercise the opportunity to compare it, because I could at the time, NOT to "buy up and sell at higher prices".

Please, spare us the judgemental rhetoric

Yes, a noble gesture Cliff, but the chips fall where they fall in the end...BTW, exchange rates fluctuate and I certainly didn't pay $380 I can tell you that, as well as I don't buy pedals or gear in general to flip them....I choose to make better decisions when purchasing gear so that one doesn't always get beat...and, there again, that's a person's decision if they constantly want to lose money....also, there was 30 made, NOT 300, again, supply and demand....and again, the ones you mention for under $500 were all beaters...you can't change the fact, that despite that it has NOTHING to do with tone(unless please correct me if a clean paint job makes something sound better), that mint BJF's will always command a higher price.

I know you don't mean to offend, but there is a slant to your take that I felt the need to clarify.
