Wow -- looks like he posted them all on eBay for crazy prices.

And check his feedback -- looks like the stories shown here have been repeated on eBay as well... :angry

I am curious what happened in this case, as many of us have had one or two bad experiences with used gear purchases and Paypal. Something doesn't add up with the story as far as I can see and Sonic didn't really defend his actions, just got belligerent about it.

I don't think I've had any dealings with Sonic, so I won't speculate as to his character. I remain ever grateful to Lars for selling me his MGMV some years ago at a very nice price - I might not have otherwise tried what has become one of my favorite pedals; he always struck me as a decent guy.

Man, just read his blog ripping this forum. Really sad. My experience is the exact opposite. I have tremendous love for this family.

sonictroubadour wrote:Whatever, nothing I can do about a lynch mob mentality, nevermind the fact that the laws of this country and fairness, in general, would dictate that people are innocent until proven guilty and this guy has offered no proof whatsoever to support his claim. And that's not merely my opinion vs. his, that's the decision of an independent arbiter who had no skin in the game. Honestly, do you think PayPal willingly promotes fraud despite the presence of evidence? C'mon, they'd be out of business in a week if they did so. Isn't it just as likely a possibility to you that Lars got a better offer after taking my money and decided to sell it elsewhere? If not, why not? I have every bit as much proof for such a claim as he has for his! In fact, not only could he not prove it was received (and that's the basis of his claim), but when asked by PP to provide proof of just mailing it, he could not do so! So, again, believe what you wanna believe. I can't stop you and I'm not gonna get mad about it, but do know that you are treating me as guilty in the absence of ANY evidence. Does that strike you as being that way fair, decent people (heck, so many of you position yourself as being Christians, even!), such as all my detractors are positioning themselves to be, act? Really, guilty in the absence of any proof, based only on one person's statement?

Bought and sold with, among others:

Steve A
dlibke
sjkexperience
Jdandry
rockeroo
Donner
BJ, himself, who just made a PH for me a month or so ago!
And on and on

None of whom had a problem or, at least they’ve never so stated to me.

So one guy makes an unsubstantiated claim and you all form a lynch mob?

Wow, I suppose you think that kid that got shot in Florida probably was doing something for which he deserved to be murdered, too?

As for selling pedals now on eBay, well, despite these unsubstantiated charges, there were still forum members begging me to sell them my rarities, but, after all this BS, I’m not dealing with anything here further. The lynch mob ruined it for, otherwise, innocent and uninvolved parties – sweet move, christians.

Logging out for good.

Have nice lives, even to my detractors! :salute

Taking your toys and leaving isn't solving anything -- getting overly defensive and telling people they aren't being christian and bringing up some kid getting shot in FL isn't an appropriate response to all this either... isn't this a forum about pedals?

You, I and many others who have been around this forum for a while know this isn't the first or only claim of a bad deal with you. Whether the bad deals are true or not is not what I'm here to point out. Just that this isn't an isolated incident or claim. Maybe there are folks who have something against you, I don't know. I know I haven't had any issues dealing with you, although I'm not sure we made any trades or sales. However, between your eBay feedback and the words of several folks on this forum (whom I do trust) the evidence does not seem to be in your favor. Regardless, if you did nothing wrong you shouldn't have to run away again, you ought to be able to be sensible and sort it out. Instead you're taking your toys and leaving. Frankly that says a lot to me. As, again, it's not the first time but hopefully it's the last because the negativity associated with all this is something I don't want any part of and don't want to see on this forum anymore.

So long and good luck.

For those silly enough to care...

When you raised this issue back in the day, Lars, PayPal asked you to prove your claim and what did you provide them with in response to that request? Oh yeah, that's right - zilch, zero, nada, nothing, bupkis! Exactly what you offer now. Unsubstantiated lies (Hey, those are easy to make!), but actual factual proof? Uh, no, sorry, none.

I'm sorry that you're unhappy that PayPal did not find your claim credible due to your failure to provide any shred of tangible proof of your claim to them, but, seriously, this old news is a matter of your issue with PayPal, not me!

And, now, if you'll excuse me... :salute

My 2 cents,

I've been around this forum for a long time, and haven't post much in recent time... Sonictroubadour is a big part of why i left...I found him to be rude and not very friendly ( or honest ) on the board and especially in personal PM's...I thought the board was taking a wrong turn in letting him back...

Huckleboogie on the other hand has been a great member to this forum...I've had a few dealings with him over the years and is a very nice, trustworthy human being...I do believe him...I know him to be a man of his word...

The Paypal decision as you all probably know means nothing of the truth, it's just what you can prove to one person...Back than, and hopefully now on this board, you didn't have to have a signature confirmation to send someone something, but i guess it is becoming more and more of a reality out in the world..I've been bit buy that on The Gear Page once myself.. Just because there was no signature to the delivery doesn't mean it didn't happen, and the fact that he has it in his possesion is damning enough...It should be very easy to explain if he got it from another source, but he can't...So, hence all the anger and distraction...Clinging to that decision is no proof...The truth is always easy to remember, and easy to explain !!!!!!!

Long time member, and proud of it !!!!

Guys, I really don't want to get into this whole thing, but comments like this don't do anything for anyone and are a huge and ugly departure from all the reasons why I have enjoyed this site.

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and remember why we are all here, we love Bjorn's work and I think many of us have always admired his spirit and philosophy of fun and kindness (I know I have). With this in mind, I appeal to people to think on it, before posting anymore energy into this thread. The whole thing is very sad in many ways. Though I have not met any of you in person, I know that I have met some incredible people on this site and, as weird as it is, I feel that I have established genuine friendships through our written exchanges.

Let's try and figure out a way to get back to "fun" and leave the details of this story to unwind on their own.

sorry to all forum members, and most of all sorry to Bjorn and Donner.

i didnt mean to cause all this anger and hate.

i always loved the good spirit in this forum, and i have to say Bjorn went out of his way to help me. especially with this pedal, and thats what makes this story especially painful. because i got that pedal for a fraction of what they go for on ebay, TGP or where ever, and when i was in the unfortunate situation of having to sell it, needing money badly, i STILL felt obliged to that good spirit....i.e. to sell it to a member of this forum here, for exact that same price, when i could have flipped it for way more. but thats how i felt about it and i still do. unfortunately i dealt with someone who kicks the good spirit i talked about with his feet.
i was even ready to believe the pedal got "lost", although that had never happened before. even though in my conversation with mr. sonic, he got real ugly and rude, i blamed myself for not insuring the package and believed him.

until i stumbled over the fact that somehow he got to posses that very pedal.
so all i did was ask him where he got it from.

instead of a honest answer i get more insults and rude comments. i'm real upset, and i wish i could do something to get "justice" but i leave it to karma , i try to keep smiling. i wont get my money nor the pedal, thats for sure. and i keep believing in the good people here in this forum.

thanks for Your support folks!

take care everyone.

True, I have had so many people loan me pedals with zero collateral that it is crazy and I have loaned out several of my own with never a worry. I also send gift option most of the time. There are a few members that have drifted off over the years I have been here that I wish would come back into the fold as they usually had great advice or that wacky BJFE Gene we all share.

I don't post too much here but I lurk a lot. This is a pretty cool forum and I have made a couple great deals with a few regulars. I'll stay in the background on this one too but I did want to mention that there seems to be good folk over here. :angel
