my book BURNED - Living Thru the 80s and 90s as RAWK Guitar

Postby Bobby D » Sun May 22, 2011 6:17 am

have you bought my book yet? buy my damn book. it's fun to read. lots of crazy times and memories from the music biz in the 80s and 90s.

read about the time Jani Lane from Warrant was #$%ing a stripper with a wine bottle at my gig.

sex, drugs, rock and roll, and GEAR.

i am selling a VERY nice PDF file of the book, laid out professionally by James Vincent in the UK!

medical bills and our condo getting foreclosed on has put us behind the 8-ball, financially. book is for sale for ANY paypal donation from $1 up. send me whatever you want/can via paypal, as long as it's at least a dolla, yo....my doctors are telling me i might only have a couple more "trips around the sun" before I pass on.....

all donations for the book are GREATLY appreciated, and I really think that ANYONE who was invloved in the music biz in the 70s,80s, 90s will really enjoy this book!

Now that my Wife has an iPad I am finally getting a chance to read it. Just a pita trying to read it on my phone.

Bobby, you should do an audio book version, so I could listen to it while I drive!

i have had several requests for an audio book, and i am considering recording one, with my own voice as the narrator. and maybe using my ambient music stargarden as the backing music, way back in the background.

my current book project is a complete history and exposition of Bjorn Juhl and BJFe, MAd Professor, Rocketride, and Bearfoot FX.

I have about 7 chapters finished, and will try to finish it this year. It was a promise i made to Bjorn, and i will indeed finish this before i pass on, even if i am writing it from my hospital bed!

there is SO MUCH to cover, because Bjorn has been so prolific and has done so many great things, and continues to do NEW things....

there will be lots of photos of all the gear.

Bjorn is going to have it published as a hardcover book, and i am sure it will be for sale here, at Custom Tone, from Donner, etc.

i am not making any $$$ from this book - it is a labor of love and a big tHANK YOU to Bjorn -- who has been so supportive of me and my music career.

Bobby - absolutely on the audio book --- inflection is everything in these kind of tales and you could use your guitar to fill in the spaces ... War stories from Bobby D would be fun ............even a 20 lessons I leard bonus cd would be cool......

and the book on BJ will be big fun !!!!!

the BJFE book is my labor of love -- and i am gonna try and use as many photos of members pedals from HERE as possible, so that all the members of BJFE.org will be a part of the book!

Bjorn has already read the seven chapters i have written so far, and has encouraged me to finish it, and he will be paying to get it published.

it will, of course, be a limited edition, a few hundred copies or so -- but it will be a historical document of one of the greatest pedal and amplifier builders and designers in history. it's a lot of work, but i want the info to be accurate, i want it to be interesting to read, and i want it to be COOL........the kinda coffee table book for guitar effects pedal geeks :love4

thank you everyone - i want to include as many members photos from HERE as possible, so that ALL of you will be in the book -- this way, we ALL have contributed, and it's OUR Book, you know?

and thank you to those who have bought my book BURNED -- it's helping a lot -- when my wife sees a little bit of paypal $$$ trickling in, she rests a little easier -- i let her handle ALL the family money, as she is better at it than i am :D

also -- there will be a chapter on DONNER and Bearfoot -- i want to gather as many photos on dONNERBOX pedal finishes, no mater what brand of pedal -- because Donner is part of the family too, and i want his work to be recognized and documented in the book, and as we all know - his pedal finishes are ART!
