How does the DRD sound when your amp is cranked?

I'm currently using a Hot Plate to really break-up one of the channels/inputs on my silverface Vibrosonic (essentially a Twin but with just a single 15" speaker), which I then boost or thicken-up with a Klon.

But I've always been interested in trying something Marshall-like.

I was wondering how these two might marry? Any thoughts or experience?

The Dyna Red tends to work best with amplifiers which are set from clean through light-to-moderate distortion. If your amplifier is too gained-out, I think the DRD will go "squish."

Well the SYOD had its origins as the DAOD prototype that Bjorn built for me in July of 2006. It was designed to be a companion/stacking buddy for the DRD, as that's what I was using for distortion.

If you do a search, you can get more info about how it works and sounds.

But yes, the SYOD will play nicely with the DRD, as that is what it was designed to do in the first place.

Have fun
