HBOD at 12v?

Postby carlisle beauregard » Sat Mar 15, 2008 8:09 pm

I've read about people using the Honey Bee at 12 volts - is this recommended or bad for the pedal? Also, I have the Voodoo Lab PP2 - I've read that the output is a little more than 12 volts with the dip switch turned to the "on" position. I can't find anything about it in the manual. Anybody have experience with the Honey Bee and the PP2 at 12v?
Thanks,
Slade

PS - does anybody use a RAT or a RAT-like pedal into the Honey Bee? I have a Freakshow Brown Rabbit and I like it a lot into the Bee...this is a pretty awesome stack - my pedal board is becoming a rock menagerie!

yeah, go for it - won't hurt nuthin'...
I've been running it at 12v since I got my pp2+ last week. Sounds great, more headroom. I haven't really done a comparison between the two settings, though. I'm really going for the edge of breakup sound with mine and 12v seems to be the ticket for that. Then I can hit it with my rat clone for some nice solo-age. Or a treble booster drives it crazy, too. I really dig it with the beano side of my Sun Lion and my HB at about 10:00. Sweet little country noodlings come ALIVE.

So the headroom becomes greater and the tone stays the same.

Thanks.
