Stacking Recipe Request: GNR Appetite for Destruction

Postby Eskimo_Joe » Fri Mar 14, 2008 6:50 pm

Hi everybody,

I have been experiencing a re-discovery of Appetite for Destruction in recent weeks and would like to try something.

Let's see what BJF pedals (on what settings) you can use to get the Appetite for Destruction tone.

Consider your stack a RECIPE FOR DESTRUCTION! :)

PS Perhaps we can cook up a prize for the best stack/recipe? Anybody got any ideas?

PS #2 It's interesting to compare a given stack to the record. I thought it would be easy to find this one, but everytime I think I find something close, I play the record and I'm a ways off for sure. :)

Eskimo Joe, this is an awesome, awesome thread. I am into it.
I was messing with this a few weeks ago.
The Dam Sonic Titan with BJFE RRB I think was getting me on a similar track. This is BJFE exclusive though, Yes?

hmmmm well for just BJF/MP stuff

I would start with DRD > LGW

or maybe Mighty Red > SBEQ

MRD > LGW might be around there also

and yeah we could do a couple of these each week and maybe group them in the reference area later or somethingtg...

Brian May , Mark Knopfler.... lots of recipe stuff would be useful here...... have at it.......

(I think we can just merge TonePost back over here or something  )

Les Paul > wah (optional) > SYOD > DRD > BPB > amp.

Approximate settings (tune to taste):

SYOD -- V 11:00, T 10:00, D 2:00

DRD -- V 1:00, T 1:00, D 11:00

BPB -- V 2:00 (punch in for solos)

What do I win?

Doc, I have to say, that is a mighty fine stack and very very close, at compared to the tone on Welcome to the Jungle. Unfortunately I don't have a Les Paul, but even with my strat, it comes close. Thanks for playing! :)
