Help me with the DRD

It seems like it takes forever to get around to putting my pedals through their paces, but so it goes. I FINALLY got a chance to run the DRD through my Super Lead/4x12" combo. The Super Lead was set very clean.

I tried several settings and could not get rid of volume drop problems with this pedal. Compared to my clean sound, the volume dropped considerably. Even with the volume knob dimed and the distortion turned down to about 9 o'clock, every time I engaged the pedal from my clean sound, I would get a big volume drop (consequently getting lost in the mix with my band). And the sound becomes VERY compressed.

Is this normal operation? Is the DRD a pedal that just needs to be kept "on" all the time with the volume set at the amp?

Hi,

No, Justonwo, that does not sound normal unless you'd be running superhot pick ups and then something hotter than I have heard of. So maybe you can drop me a mail and I'll gladly have a look at it.

The pickups are Gibson 57 Classics. So not super hot. I'll be in touch.

Hmmm . . . I didn't have the same problem with my Champ at home (much lower volume of course). I'm going to look into this some more, Bjorn.
