What wahs have you used with your BJFs...?
What works ~ what doesnt ??
How many wahs do you have ????

I have a crybaby Classic Wah somewhere... i drag it out when I get board.. been meaning to drag it out... I'll let you know ;)

Yeah thats kind of what Im wondering also - how many people still use the wah much and for what - theres a lot of territory betwee Shaft and Schenker 8)

I use a Supa Quack LE. In the past I had a Vox and a Fulltone and neither of those did the trick at all so they mostly sat unused. Then I started hearing about the Supa Quack and how vocal it is and so I decided to snap one up that came on TGP. Anyway, it's made me into a huge wah fan. I used it with overdrive and distortion (and fuzz to a lesser extent because it doesn't handle fuzz as well as I would like). I use it on rythym and lead, mostly lead --- mostly in a classic rock type of tone area. Hope that helps!

seriously its one effect Ive always had, and try not to abuse.
I guess that just the type of music Im into but really its in alot more genres that one would think. use it with guitar, bass , keys, vocals...
but really I havent really found one wah that will do it all. Ive tried most Teese wahs, Supa q's, and various crybabys.
If I had to keep one,,proabably one of the Teeses for its versitility.
I want to be able to go from Curtis Mayfield tones to RageAgainst the Machine heavy distortion wah and soulful rockin vocal lead wah in between. Also a cocked wah solo can be great for inducing controlable feedback with a nice mid voicing type sound.
I can get most places with the Teese but its a pain to tweak it.
I cant really get the Supa to do well into heavy distortion with out a buffer after it, where as the teese seems to address this well. The Supa does have alot of nice qualities as EJ mentioned.
I dont use it much with fuzz anymore as I drift right into hendrix land. :wink:
i think there are many uses still for the wah today. surprised to hear not everyone use it. :lol:

Oh, I like the effect!, I just wear the things out in no time, I sent my clyde back to fulltone, geeze, many times. Last time I said screw it, got it fixed again and dumped it. So now I just buy Classics. true bypass, fazel, if it junks, I just get another for $65. I like to run the TS9 in front of it to make that thing really cry.

I've got a Clyde Deluxe. I play around with it quite often but must admit it is never as smooth as some of the recorded music I listen to; more noisy and not as musical. I prefer the 'Jimi', the 'Whacked' setting is really outta my league. I use it first in the chain always and often with overdrives or distortion. Agree it's not fuzz friendly.

I'd like to try a SupaQuack at some point, the Keeley modded Vox 847
(if anyone else has some thoughts on that one, pass them along), and maybe a Landgraff as well. Haven't heard anyone mention the Landy here but have heard some good things from others. I'm sure its a long wait!

I love the effect and it does add a lot when used correctly. Therein lies the rub I guess. Perhaps its not the wah but the moi!

yeah I forgot to mention I did have a few Classics that sounded real good,,,but after replacing 5 of them I realized they had major QC issues and Id be buying them for the rest of my life. :wink:
oh yeah when I spoke with Jon about the Landys he said there is no standard version. Its made to your personal taste and specs, and not tuneable. quoted wait was 8 months, probably more like 12. 8)

i use a teese picture wah, mostly for clean rhythm stuff. however it works great with the HB and DRD (both single and stacked) but not really with EGDM.

I've got a Teese Wizard Wah that I like quite a bit. It works well with distortion and fuzz (I place it after my od/fuzz pedals). The only wah that I've tried that I've liked better has been a Landgraff, but the wait time is a year or more and the price is hefty. I have been told that the Area 51 wah with all of the controls options is pretty amazing, too.
