Step Away from the Dirt Pedal!

Postby TheWarmth » Wed Jan 23, 2008 10:16 am

I don't mean to be critical of Bjorn, but doesn't it seem like maybe we're going overboard with dirt recently:

Cliffhanger
SYOD
SOOD
Model R
Model H
DRD
LGW
MP SBOD
EDGM

This list doesn't even include fuzz pedals and I'm sure there are a few I'm forgetting.

I suppose it's cool to have so many models to choose from, but personally, I'd like to see more BJF modulation pedals ... vibes, phasers, tremolos, FLANGERS, etc.

Just my $0.02. A BJF Flanger would be awesome.

Mighty Red Distortion
Honey Bee
uhhh :D

Well very soon there will be the MP line for BJs modulation designs
Tremolo
Phaser
VCF (still a ways off)
A chorus eventually

once t he 'factory' gets up to full crank and takes care of the initial back order they should be stock items - on hand or not far behind 8)

I'd have to agree, but then I'm biased already since the PGC and MGMV two of my favourite BJF pedals and the CAF and VCF would be high up there too. Having just bought a Cornell Plexi and discovered the most wonderful natural amp drive, I'm not likley to be looking at overdrives for a while, you could line up the fuzz for me all day long though.

Problem is, having already done a phaser, trem, envelope filter there isn't much more left. Flanger you mentioned and I suppose a chorus too, but again, personally I wouldn't use either of them.

Put me down for the mythical BJFE Analogue Delay and maybe even an actual Tape Echo, if it were small enough.

Not to mention a BJF Warm Chocolate Wah

Yeah, a BJF wah would be fantastic, too. I'm throwing around the idea of ordering a Landgraff, as the one I tried just blew me away, but the 1+ year wait time is a bummer.

CAF with Nature around Noon!

That's one of the best Octavia sounds I've heard, prefer it to the Captain Coconut and Octron at least.

That's a good point, I kinda forget about that sometimes. Ideally though, I'd like to see what funky features Bjorn could integrate into an Octave Fuzz. It would be nice be able to control the level and character of the fuzz, as well as the amount (?) of octave. So many octaves are unusable IMO because they just take over and 15 seconds later I just want to turn it off. Maybe Bjorn could come up with a Diet Octave Fuzz? :)
