I was just thinking about the SYOD/SOOD so I thought I would post that here. The SYOD is one of those pedals that some people think is good for them and others kind of think it is a bit too bright. Bjorn made an interesting point. He noted that modern amps are a lot brighter than amps from the 1960s and 1970s. Even the bass component in modern guitar amps is a lot brighter. So, this may also help to explain why some people thought that the SYOD was a bit too bright for their setup. As I noted in my earlier comments, I think that the brightness in the SYOD was a good thing. One wonders what a merged SYOD/SOOD pedal would be like...

Hi,

Merging SYOD and SOOD would most easily be done by making four knobs on an SYOD, hm I might just do that ;)

Have fun
BJ

Excellent :-). Seems to me that a merged SYOD/SOOD would be a very nice pedal indeed. Mmmm, if one merges a Sparking Yellow Overdrive with a Sparking Orange Overdrive does one get a Sparking Tangerine Overdrive?

Agreed!! BJF Od's are always voiced so well that you almost never need to adjust any low end, but it still would be nice to have occasionally. I would love to have a bass/low mid control on my DRD to have some more "woof" at times.
