Pedal question

I was wondering if this pedal exists in the BJ line up.

Something that adds a nice prescence (sp?), but doesn't get shrill and ice picky and also doesn't attenuate the low end. Also, adds some round lows and whompy low mids without getting muddy. Adds some color, but little, if any, compression (excels with an amp that has some natural tube compression giong on). Has a nice Chimey Jangley sound with teeth and has string-to-string definition on chords. Then When turned up it still retains these characteristics but this is where the lows and low mids really start to shine through and the color blooms :). I feel like the RRB gets part way there...just needs some more control/tweaking abilities...and color(?)

So does this pedal exist in the current BJF/MP line up? Or am I stuck up in the clouds? Or, is the secret in the pedals I currently own...(EGDM, RRB, HB, SBEQ)?

thanks

Have you tried the Little Green Wonder ?

Its tone control will adds lows and also add a touch of presence fully to t he left....

and its low compression and high headroom...

and you can change the chip to manipulate these attribues a bit....

the CS Sparkling Yellow might fit that description too.....

hmm, I always thought that the LGW wouldn't be my bag, because I always came to that word "tube screamer" and moved on. I might have to check into it someday.

I've thought about the SYOD here and there, but I felt that I read somewhere it kind of attenuates the low end alittle bit.... or am I crazy?

Yeah the LGW is just like a Tube Screamer except everything is changed 8)

SYOD II...will that be along the lines of part treble boost part no touch the lower frequencies?

I may read more into the LGW.

Sean,

I think you might be happier with the LGW than the SYOD, at least the SYOD I version. I'm sure the SYOD II will address the findings of the forum members who tested it as Bjorn always comes through in that respect.

I have never used a Tube Screamer per se but have used some nice facscimiles and the LGW is a much more versatile pedal in my opinion. Think of it as a less compressed EGDM with more headroom (as Donner said).

The thing I really like is its response with varying pick dynamics. If you fingerpick, it adds thickness. If you stroke the strings with a pick, you get a nice clean tone. If you dig in, the gain is there without being muddy. The tone control provides some good variablilty; fat to the left, skinny to the right but never "ice picky"

I have never used a chip other than the stock chip that came in it so I can't address that.

Don't let me talk you out of a Sparkling Yellow as it is a great pedal as well. I switch back and forth between the two all the time now that I have both.

I use a PRS Custom 22 into a THD Flexi 50 with a THD 2x12 with Lead 80's so take that into account.
