Lately I've been experimenting with a Klon Centaur. I've been running it last in my signal chain, with the gain turned off, the treble at 12:00, and the output at 11:00. This has worked as an overall "thickener" of my tone, and it really makes the unwound strings sound fuller ... not so thin and trebly. One problem I've had with guitar in general over the years is that the wound strings always sound so much more harmonically complex then the plain strings. Not really sure why this is ... anyway, the Klon seems to fatten everything up quite nicely, without really adding any additional gain or volume ... it just seems to add harmonic content. I wonder if there are other pedals that would do this, but so far the Klon has worked the best for that application. (As an OD, though, nothing touches my DAOD.)

It's almost like having a "more" switch on my amplifier. Lately, I've just been leaving it on all the time. This added thickness in turn really complements the fantastic sounds I'm already getting with my BJF pedals.

Anybody else try something similar?

Doc :)

WooooHoooo! Spent quite a bit o' time today regrouping the rig and man o' man I'm loving it. This is today's order:
SupaQuack>EGDM>LRT>LGW>Captain Coconut 2>HB>MGMV>SBEQ>MDEQ>El84 Amp with a DB Delay in the loop.

The surprise here is the Little Red Trebler into the C.Coconut Fuzzfoot. I've had a time getting something good out of the fuzz with single coils. The LRT is the missing link. Tones so smooth and flowing, just pours out of the guitar. The Octave has always been fun but very limited to me. Now to make the solo's sing, I'm using it with great results. The LRT had filled in the frequencies that were missing to these ears. Neat pedal! Thanks Bjorn and DocRock!

Right on dude, I am so happy to see the LRT has gone to a good home!!! I think it's a fantastic pedal, and I am glad it is now in a place where it will get the use it deserves to get.

well lets see, the TZF is always welcome with some heavy BJF fuzz and clean drive before it.Kinda big though. Octron II as well, but I like the low octave alot.
I also had the Carb in the mix as a fattner until a week or two ago.

Ive put in a MKII OC81 with attack all the way up. Very compressed singing fuzz sound which I like at times and even more with LRT SBEQ and BPB added.

I do find that the LRT(1st) BPB(last, 23rd?) are on most of the time. The PGC and SBEQ find alot of lit led time too. Too many pedals not to have some boost and buffers in.

I do add a wah on the side,,,,I will say that the SupaQ did not fair well with OC81's without a buffer in between. Since the LRT is usually1st w/o wah,2nd with, it did not matter, it would cut most everything else. Really I choose wah depending on situation, I like some others alot too!

HKRoto also had less noise when running the PGC as a drive into it other than its own. Took some fine tweaking but was a considerble difference, Although some things were lost harmonically, they could be gained back with added help of the EQ and Boost. Again kinda big though.

I added the AMdelay as well, I like analog voice as well as tape and digital,,I just like delay.

Oh yeah stuck in the BOA the other day,,,was nice with almost all the BJF's.
Most of whats added is stuff that Bjorn currently does not make(as far as I know). My obvious front runners of effects that I shamlessly beg Bjorn to make are Flanger, Leslie Sim, Analog Delay, Low Octave and Wah and thats about it. :) Thank you
Take care,
Cabo

Great post, Cabo!!! Thanks for taking the time to share. Sounds like you've got a lot going on there. Do you really have 23 ( ) pedals on one board???

Also, what is "BOA" ?

Which MkII OC81 are you using? Scotty's or D*A*M?

,,,BOA=BoxOFAwesome Bal/China combo, sorry for the confusion.

The MKII is by DAM. A small little customshop version with no battery drawer. great for J.Page stuff.

Box of Awesome ... is that Lovepedal?

Yeah, I used to have a full-size DAM MkII. What a great pedal, but I ended up selling it to fund an amp purchase. Nails the Zep tone spot-on.

It is a nice tone fattner if you already like your sound, which I do.
First no knobber Ive had and was really fine tuned quite nice.

Iam also to the point of needing to replace some peds with an amp,,,,all the gas makes it easier said than done

I found a few pics too that Ill try to post tonight.
