A question for UK BJFE fans & users...

I'm new to BJFE having just purchased and fallen in love with a Honey Bee, which I'm guessing happens a lot right?
Anyhow, after trawling through the site and forum today it looks like a Candy Apple Fuzz is next on the list for me...

What I was wondering was, how do you guys in the UK go about purchasing BJFE pedals?
Do you order direct? Use custom-sounds.com? Buy em second hand from TGP?

Does ordering from the US work out in our favour? Or does any money saved in the exchange rate get lost in import tax?

I'm just after a bit of advice really!

Cheers.

agree...Harri at Custom Sounds is the best........and, this particular affliction, fortunately, is fatal only to your wallet!!

Cheers for the recommendation guys.

Does anyone have any experience of the US vs European pricing?
Are there any US online stores that currently have CAF's in stock so I can check it out for myself?

Welcome BH !!!
Something to keep in mind on your side of the pond --- BJFEs are not RoHS compliant and will not be - so at some point the 'standard models' being sold in
the EU is likely to cease - tho there is a pass for research prototypes so the Customshop proto/research stuff can still go ...

This was another reason the MP line was born as it IS RoHS compliant and can be sold everywhere......

Oh wow, I didn't know that! Is this being grandfathered in, i.e., can EU folks who wish to purchase used BJF pedals from private owners in the States still buy them? Or will all non-RoHS pedals, regardless of new vs. used, be forbidden?

Im not sure about used pedals - I think the point of RoHS is to keep the harmful chemicals in disposable items like obsolete cellphones, computers out of the landfills/water supplies ~ which I totally aggree with.......... tho Im thinking the amount of BJFEs in landfills is pretty low

Forgive me for being dumb, but what does RoHS mean? It seems like some kind of compliance...does it have to do with the components in the pedals or the finish on the box?

whatever it is I'm happy that the USA is letting me have my BJFE's

Right, I agree with you...seems it's one of those laws that should have some exception provisions for these types of things...not so "blanketing."

Wow, cheers for the heads up Donner. Any idea of a time-frame on this?

Will this restrict EU buyers to only purchasing used or second-hand BJFE's from private sellers in the US?
