Wow, cheers for the heads up Donner. Any idea of a time-frame on this?

Will this restrict EU buyers to only purchasing used or second-hand BJFE's from private sellers in the US?

Well as I understand it RoHS is a manufacturing compliance as of a certain date - so anything made before that would be grandfathered in I believe, and I think it was July 1st of '07....

but there are exceptions and like any law various levels of compliance

And its entirely possible that the US could come up with something similar ... the biggest proglems for boutique pedal builders are the lead content in solder and old germanium components.....

The problem is there are lots of quickly obsoleted products like cell phones and electronics that get dumped in the trash by the millions and have some very nasty chemicals that leech into the ground, food and water supply.... I actually agree with this law, if they can get the proper acceptions in order, like for things with long life expectancy,,, like BJFE pedals 8)

Ooh, BJFs outlawed and forced underground in the UK?! I want them all the more!

I would imagine at least half of the BJF pedals produced are destined for the US, maybe even more, which puts us all in roughly the same boat when scouring for a fix.

I try to spread the love, I've ordered from Brad at Tonefactor, Dean (Pinkstrat) of SOB Strings, Customshops from Donner, TGP Spam thread, HCFX Spam thread, don't think I've ever used ebay yet though.

Strings Direct in the UK stock BJFs, but they were dry the last time I checked, about five minites ago.

I've always used custom sounds - easy to deal with, priced the same as everywhere else and no problems.

ROHS is a pain when it comes to pedals, been quite interested in a few pedals now and when you contact the builder direct they can't sell to you as they're not ROHS compliant. OK it might have saved me money but it didn't help the GAS monster!

I'm not in the UK (I'm in Australia), but I've had GREAT service from Godlyd.
I'm not sure how they'd work for you in regards to exchange rates, etc... but I highly recommend them !!
