I had another tone revelation yesterday... Octron -> Model H is jaw dropping! I have been playing with many different people and instruments over the last week (strings, sitar, djridoo, bass ect...) this combo has easily cut through the mix... I have been stacking the two with the PGC and SBEQ...

PGC (V 7, B 11 C 11) -> Octron (upper octave - 3 Direct - CW Lower octave - almost CW) -> Model H (V - 6, Tone- anywhere between 10-4, Gain almost CW ) I hope this helps people find more joy in their H!

Right Ive hit a similar concept,,, kind of a duh moment, but these ampish drives of course react like amps so most 'effects' modulations/frequency manipulators sounds best first since they would sound like they are going into an amp....

I hit a weird one awhile back,,, Model H INTO CAF , great singing lead tone , I was suprised......

HA, yeah get one of those battman things that adjust the voltage - down to about 6 volts maybe....denser distortion .....its funny you always hear people asking if a pedal can take higher voltage ... but sometimes what you want is a sagging battery .... :wink:

Hey Robapov,

I have a Supa Quack and it works really well with virtually all OD and distortion pedals, including the H.

I got the Model H yesterday and cranked it up. Played some who songs of course and was digging the tone. My rig tends to be a little dark but the H shined thru. I played Yamaha SBG2000>HB>LGW>H>Tweed 5E3. I kept the tweed on the verge of breakup and the H pushed it nicely into Can't Get Fooled Again. I tried it with the tweed breaking up already and it pushed thru the break up nicely. I love it and its one pedal I don't think I'll be getting rid of any time soon. :D

I had the chance recently to try out an H for awhile borrowed from a friend. I think the H is more of a distortion than OD, and initially I found it rather dark compared to the DRD, and the EGDM, my mainstay distortions for years now. Since it's a distortion, I found it sounds best later in the dirtchain, & using it as a pre-driver was unnecessary. I was initially dissapointed, but after more playing & tweaking, the H started to make a more positive impression. I understand that the tone control is like moving a mike around the speaker cone, but found the range rather limited with my rig since the only usable tones were almost full clockwise. At these settings, I really started liking the H for what it is. It stands apart from other BJF distortions, definitely has it's own thing going on. I'd like to see more range on the tone control, but the H is a very cool variation from the DRD, & EGDM.
