i just played with my model H for about 2 hours (PGC->H->SBEQ, Tamerlane Queen Jane Tube Amp and Freda closed back cab)....i leave the electric guitar review for later BUT this pedal with my acoustic is ASTOUNDING
I cannot believe how perfect it sounds...i have never in my life heard a pedal that wraps around the notes so well...first i am using my humble yet amazing norman st-40, which is my soul in a guitar...i am using the model H with the volume about 40% up and the tone between 25-70% (LOTS of sounds) and the drive in the same vacinity...to explain it i would have to say, with my acoustic that is, the decay is quick but glorious and extremely well defined...i was playing jazz standards for a little while and each note could be heard, nothing was lost in the mix, what i am saying is this pedal conquers chords and whisps thick warm tone to my ears (yes it even delivers on open chords, so no worries)...it delivers the crunch that i so long desired, and becuase i am born and raised an acoustic player, dynamics are all in my hands, it responds to slaps and bending (even the slightest bit) , the bass response is awesome...clear and defined is the bottom line! there is sooo much to say about this little sparkly black box, the tone control, how it reacts to delays and how it sounds over loops, with chorus ect. but that shall come in the full review stay tuned my friends more is on the way!

What speakers and tubes ??

Just got back from rehearsal and had a blast with the Model H. We're practicing for the Empty Bottle's Alex Chilton Birthday Bash, so we're working on three Big Star songs from the Radio City album at the moment. I played my '81 Gibson 335 through my Matchless HC-30 (fairly clean). I've never played a HiWatt aside from briefly trying Doc Rock's, so I can't say how close this pedal gets to the HiWatt sound, but it certainly is an awesome tone. I recall reading that you can get very nice sounds from it if you roll back your guitar volume, but I don't play that way (never touch the volume knob on my guitar for the most part), so I decided to hold off experimenting with that for the time being.

First, I was happy that there was a lot of gain and volume on tap! The H can get very loud. It's got a biting tone, but in a good way ... nice and bright. I was pleased with the results stacking it with my Toneczar Dove (low-gain od) for leads. I also tried slamming my Landgraff Mo'd with the H and that also worked well for lead work.

I was surprised that the tone knob didn't seem to offer a wider range. I messed with it quite a bit and it seemed quite subtle compared to, for example, that of the HBOD and CAF. Maybe it's just me and I'll see the light at some point after spending more time with it. It was, for all intents, my first time really digging into the H. I'm definitely curious to hear what others think of the tone knob. Personally, I think I'd like to get just a little more low end of out it.

Overall, though, I'm really enjoying this pedal so far and look forward to experimenting with it further.

Yeah the tone knob is a new kind - its not a simple treble rolloff.... to me it sounds more like moving a mic closer or farther away to the cab or maybe switching from a 50 to a 100 watt head , hard to say... what do you guys hear ??

But you can totally hear that Live at Leeds tone...
I freaking love this pedal!
It can do high gain chords but then single note solos without changing anything...super clear crisp with balls...
Haven't tried it with a Strat yet...but I'm sure Floyd lies within this pedal too...

Well, I've had only a little time with the new Model H and am really digging it. There are so many flavors out now that I really think there is something for everyone. I also got a new Model R (more on that one later). Thanks, Donner!!

I've switched rigs since the H proto rolled around and of course things sound a bit different to me. I will say that there is PLENTY of gain on tap. In fact, for me it is a bit too much. I may ask Bjorn to dial back the gain a bit if possible but I've got to play with it more. It can really scream into feedback though which is really fun!

I'm actually using the Drive knob at zero! This one is the crunchiest (for lack of a better word) drive that I've heard from Bjorn and at this point, I've tried almost all of them except the DRD and BBOD. It responds really well to changes on the guitar volume knob. It doesn't seem to have quite the sparkle of the proto but that could be my new Divided by 13 9/15 (my Tophat is brighter). It has a really cool rock texture to it and is definitely in your face. Aggressive and even across the eq spectrum.

I'm usually running the knobs: Volume 11-Noon, Drive at 0, Tone all the way up or close. The knobs are the first metal ones I've seen BJ use and they are very cool. I'm using it with Tele and my /13 9/15 through a /13 2X12 open backed cab with a blue and an anniversary G12H30. I'm also using a new Badcat Leash attenuator at home.

I should also mention that my leave on all the time BJFs are the PGC, MGMV, SBEQ and most of the time my RRB for a slight boost.
