Yep... I'm finally here.

After literally years and years of reading Donner's and other's threads about the Honey Bee, I finally broke down and got myself one.

I just kept on passing this one by for other peds... for what admittingly turns out to be a really really stupid reason.

Simply because one BJF OD pedal (the BBOD) I tried through my set-up sounded absolutely horrible... and I just didn't want to gamble on a pedal expense.

Thankfully however, I tried some other BJ pedals recently and was really impressed (the delay etc.. ) so I thought maybe I should give the HB a try.

And Dang.... Don't I feel foolish now!

This pedal is absolutely amazing. I can tell because I'm just playing, playing, and playing.... not tweaking, tweaking, and tweaking...

Killer touch response... huge tonal variations just waiting for your fingers to pick 'em out.

But most of you guys knew this years ago!

Anyways... there's many many many killer pedals out there these days. We are seriously spoiled gear-wise imo...

So the real trick is weeding them out and finding which OD peds you need... as opposed to want. Which can be very difficult when you got so many different sounds tempting you... and distracting you from just buckling down and making some damn music.

So far the HB seems to be an excellent fit. If it holds up with my big amps at my rehearsal space, I will be crazy happy. As finally I will have found a true low-gain OD that works for me.

I also have had a love -not love the BBOD. I have tried 3 and could never bond with it. Now the honey bee is another story. actually HB, model r and drd are a great 123 punch for me. just me of course. peace out.

Well I tried it with my Twin Reverb today... Still VERY cool, but waaay thicker sounding. I'm thinking I'll probably have to back off the bass on my amp a tad... which is probably for the best actually. I love having my clean guitar sound like a piano with a deep low-end, but I might be over doing it.

The big plus is that the high frequency content does not sound like a pedal at all. Similar to a klon in this regard and a rare and fine trait imo...

The downside is that my tonebender kind of turns into a muddy piece of wool... but my FOXX sounds great through it! Go figure...

I think I'll check out the HB stackers guide... curious as to what other people are using to stack with it. So far I'm my Sonic Titan kills with it, but what I'd really like to use is my treble boost... still dialing it in though...

And Donner you were right about the HB and modulation pedals... WOW! My sterile digital delay also sounds amazing with it!!

to be cont...
