The SYT at $600 probably went for a lot less than it could have I'm guessing. When I was trying to track one down, I found a guy who had one and said he had multiple offers > $1000 and still wouldn't sell it. Crazy for sure, but supply and demand.

What is terrible I think is the fact that there seem to be a handful of people (Including frequenters of this forum) who have taken to BJF FLIPPING. The model seems to be this....buy one for a normal price from TGP or here or some other forum, then list it at a $100 - $200+ premium on ebay, and repeat.

Other course there's nothing to stop them and in the real world, it's called arbitrage, but with BJF's it seems pretty opportunistic. I'm glad everyone isn;t doing it that way.

Yep. It's complete crap as far as I'm concerned. And the "hey, it's a free market" line that a lot of folks seem to use as their defense is a weak one at best. It doesn't take into account any moral or ethical transgressions that are occurring as others continue to exploit BJ's hard work for their own profiteering motives.

I, too, am glad that not everyone is doing this.

When I sold my first EGDM it was for 265...which is what I bought it for used a few years ago. I even felt bad about selling it for that. I can't imagine selling something for a 300-400 dollar profit

All are right, in all sense, but dont forget the Dollar rate at this moment,
for excample the VCF, gone for 780 Dollar ( The deal didn't happen actually !!!) That means for "oversea" users only 530 euro, and thats pritty close to the stock price we paid here,,,,,,if we can get a VCF !!!
Blues or not so Blues, adicted or not so adicted !!!

Nocaster,

Point well taken. We sometimes forget the "bigger picture" here in America.

I was also thinking that with folks selling some of the more rare pedals, it might give some of the rest of us opportunity to own them when we wouldn't be able to otherwise...so, its not all bad.

However, I'm still keeping mine!!

hmmmm yup, its a weird corner....

Value is a convoluted thing....

I cant stop someone from selling thier Customshop pedals, but they wont get anymore.....
All of those pedals are on waiting lists and I will always give someone the next name on the list to sell it to if it doesnt sit with thier rig,,, and a few have taken me up on that and they are still on the other lists  All thats important is that they are top shelf creations that will always hold there value a $500 dollar item that resells for $500 is a better buy than a $200 item that resells for $150

as far as the $700 BBODs and $1000 SYTs those are discontinued collectors items now - theres less SYTs than CJODs

Vintage guitars have gone insane the last couple years

And yes unfortunately the US dollar is circling the toilet at the moment and US goods are relatively cheap on ebay if you want to sell overseas

who knows where it will stop........

But yes these are unique tone providers and thats thier real value , as long as they resell for about what they sell for I dont care, none of mine are for sale....but its good to have the backup value there

yeah...it was me...my VCF and SYT
Sorry guy's...you know how loyal I am to BJF...I still have 13 BJFs!!
But I've been thinking about selling the VCF and SYT for a while...and I could never bring myself to let them go..but money changes things...
I'm by no means rich...I just got to a point where I needed money quickly...I knew they were bringing top dollar right now...so I sold them.
It wasn't what I wanted to do...but I just never used the Trem and as much as I loved the VCF...I didn't use it either.
They are "in the family" BJF guys you've seen around got them....
Well that's it really...please don't hold this againist me...I'm not flipping them or any crap like that...
These were my personal pedals I've had for a while...please understand.
