Famous player sounds/tones in a BJF box

Postby I am Incinerator » Thu Oct 25, 2007 3:55 pm

I was wondering about the whole "sounds like so-n-so in a box" in relation to BJF or MP pedals. So far it seems the HB goes in hand with the "Keef" sound and the EGDM has been described as a Mike Campbell/ heartbreakers sound.

Just wondering if there were any other relations goin on?

Sounds like I struck gold with my HB/EGDM choices...and the RRB thrown in for "more is better" :)

Candy Apple Fuzz is Hendrix/Band of Gypsies in a Box for sure...both Fuzz wise and Octave wise...
HB + EGDM + DRD_or_LGW will always be the BjF Triumvrate for me.
With a Vintage Fender it gives me the Tweedy/Vox/Marshall preamp tones I'm looing for...I add the Baby Pink Booster for leads and for full on Fender tones...then the Folk Fuzz or CAF to round it all out....
It's like having an analog pod...
Soon we will have "the who" in a box with the Model H that will be coming soon...I thought the Proto was killer and might be one of my favorite Higher gain BjF's that I've played...can't wait for it!

I like EGDM into PPF for some Brian May like stuff. I run the Antelope MDEQ before it and cut the Bass and add mids and highs.

I agree that the HB can do Keef and also some Zep sounds.

sounds cool. Got a word from Dean about a week ago my HB and EGDM should be finished up pretty soon.

Then who knows what I'll be saving for....new guitar? new amp? more pedals? There are so many things to check out. and so little time escpecially when the stuff you want is not readily available near you.

I was thinking what pedal or stack would get you near the "Tres Hombres" tones. Also I know this isn't a player, but what stack would cop 'wreck tones, if possible...curiosity has been killing me as of late
