Heheh!

Many thanks! That Jazzmaster was my gigging guitar for many years...in fact for about 4 years it was my only electric guitar.

I dragged it all over the UK and occasionally Europe to play gigs a while back. She just sings :)

Hi There,

Thank you mr piccard.

Anyway, as can be seen in the schematic it is fairly close to a FF.
Bias is set via the 25K trimmer at collector of Q1 and resting voltage at collector Q2 would then be set at 4,5V. For the Sparkling Faces that I made for this thread I have set bias with AC signal sine wave with Saturation control fully counterclockwise to allow near linear operation when signal is below clipping threshhold and so onset of distortion is gradual and gradually increasing. This setting allows for also a type of distorted sound that I have heard on many recordings with Hendrix and wondered how he got it as it somewhat sounds like a fuzz but also somewhat like distortion....
To my ear these transistors lend themselves well to this type of sounds

As I mentioned in another post I also made a a while ago a FF with BC108C transistors but with that I felt more to go with nonlinear from start as the sound and playability was more fun that way with those transistors.

Much more soon while DIY veresion can now start and as can be seen the parts count is so low that circuit easily can be wired on a piece of perfboard more or less following the schematic.

Have great fun
BJ

I got some pedals incoming and some gigs in December so I will be able to get some real world input in soon. I am also in the process of getting a recording organized.
