Thanks for the feedback guys!
Yes, the 1.. Wow, BJ totally nailed it with this.. VH1 in a box.. Closest I have ever heard or felt under the fingers! He had just watched star wars when I got it hence the title.. It is a quote he wrote on the back of the proto
Truly a 'stellar' box!
The MP1 in the vid was tweaked a little by BJ too.. Not sure if it was an early GC model but I guess it might have been. Fantastic separation on the gain with a satisfying combination of grind and quick compression.. The transients are full bodied and intact from word go.. a joy to 'dig into'! The reverb on board is a nice and naturally lush addition just like the feel on the early albums.. The tone really jumps from the amp and becomes part of the room sound in a very natural way in person. As BJ puts it we all just need this tone to go nuts on from time to time..
On the difference between a BJFe and a production model.. Think of it like this.. I can play guitar. I can read music notation and I have a good grasp of italian terms.. dynamics etc. I can use these skills to accurately recreate a solo note for note from a transcription. Perfect! All good, right? Indeed it is! However, no matter how close I get to being say.. Jeff Beck, I am not Jeff Beck. Jeff Beck is Jeff Beck. JB is JB and BJ is BJ. Make sense?
